(fr) wrote: A riveting heartfelt docudrama... And where did they come-up with the idea and physics to make so believable the design of those mystic machetes? Astounding visuals! "Braveheart" meets "The Last of The Mohicans."
(us) wrote: It really is as good as they say, nothing to add here. And the 2h+ are not too long. My second Sion Sono after Himizu (yes, wrong order) and the guy is a genius. Now on to Love Exposure, as soon as I find time to watch a 4-hour movie...
(fr) wrote: We haven't watched the remake yet from 2008, but since this was a prequel, maybe that's OK. For what it is, plot canyons and all, it was fun. I will always give an extra half star for a bad guy's head being squashed like a pumpkin under the tire of a car. I hate to see Ving playing such a prick, but he was very good as a not all that far in the future morally bankrupt prison owner, if the republican douches in congress got their way and finished turning the US into a total corporatocracy. Other than Kevin Costner/Brian Dennehy, the cast is hilariously bad - but maybe that was the point.Michael Biehn as 'Johnny Ringo' doesn't seem so laughable after this.
(mx) wrote: Disturbingly heartbreaking yet all the more compelling for it, Blue Valentine examines the brutally honest messiness of love with this complex portrait of 2 young people and their relationship as it evolves and then devolves, and it's extremely well-acted by the two stars Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams.

(fr) wrote: This was actually a good movie. Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro did a great job. Its really sad though.
