Fun and faithful to the tone of the original, it makes some interesting choices about how childhood is affected by trauma, specifically war. Sure the animation is cheap and the songs are worse (ok, FAR worse), but for what it is, it's actually soaring fun.

(au) wrote: Of all the disaster films out there this is one of the few that has the right to take itself seriously. For a movie that's ahead of its time, with execution and the concepts involved, it's also kind of out-dated so you might find it boring. I think it's definitely worthy of a remake.
