(br) wrote: The interesting thing about this tedious documentary is seeing Mitt Romney portrayed in an actual positive light (something that I believe the mainstream media did not do during the election). One sees Romney's ambition as well as some of his personal thoughts about the campaign and political process. If it all wasn't so dull...

(de) wrote: Pretty solid characters and pretty good acting, a quite enjoyable gangster film with violence and a good pace and perfect runtime. It's no Goodfellas but I was still caught up in the story.
(de) wrote: It was an okay movie, I love Kevin Smith he is soo funny. I don't understand why girls go for the wrong guy when there is a great guy right in front of them.. Humm!! anyway it was just okay!
(us) wrote: The reconstructions are extremely well made and the whole movie just kind of slowly draws you in. Its a great documentary for anyone but it still pleases the climbing enthusiasts out there!
(mx) wrote: Total crap. Poor script, really poor special effects, idiotic story line. The thing that annoyed me the most was that they kept referring to the alien thing as a torus, when it bears ZERO resemblance to a torus. It looks like a pointy chunk of rock! Also the engineer is a complete idiot - he suggests "it must be balancing the earths gravity just perfectly - they must have some advanced gyroscopes". WTF?? Anyhow, I only watched 1/2 this movie before I decided that I would prefer to do the dishes instead.
(us) wrote: Once, while in the midst of a personal tragedy, I was reminded that the world was still a very beautiful place, that my sorrow and loss did not engulf and swallow up the world. I don't think there has ever been filmed such beauty amidst such sorrow. The achingly pretty images, the betrayal, the trappings of family and the rewards and punishment received for remaing within the trap, life flowing wetly....

(kr) wrote: "Inventing the Abbotts" is a relaxing, nostalgic movie that tells a quite atypical love story. Set in the 50s, it's a movie about not only love, but also about revenge and sufference; it's kind of interesting to notice how similar and, in the meantime, different the Holt brothers are. They see the Abbotts in a complitely different way. Doug loves Pamela, while Jacey is just seeking revenge because of some conviction he has... and, as in real life, at the end of the movie we find out that his conviction was complitey wrong, and set on some very non-solid bases. People has always liked to chat around, and we all know that gossip news very often aren't true. Another good reason to watch this movie is seeing Liv Tyler and Joaquin Phoenix act together. They make quite a good couple, and they both did a fairly good job.

(jp) wrote: This is probably one of the deepest films made in years. Edward Norton made an incredible lead performance that drives the movie well. This film can be hard to watch at times and it may not be for everyone with its intense action and violence but the overall message of the movie is well thought out and is quite moving. Even the most violent of people can change as seen by Derek when he becomes friends with a black man when he was in prison. Behind all the violence lies a great message that is pretty motivational. Its plot details how black and white people despise each other and often get in fights and even kill each other. The movie details how brothers Derek and Danny both try to turn themselves around from their harsh life. All of their friends are racist and both of them fear their friends turning on them if they try to leave their gang. The ending is tragic and it's hard to watch. It gets me every time but it's fitting. This is a really amazing film. It has a great story and a great message. All of this combines to make one of the best movies in the 90's. As long as you can get by the gore and action then this will likely be a film for you. This is a must see film for all fans of drama movies.
