The singing is as expected, first class particularly a joyous rendition of I'm on my way, early on and there's also plenty of humour. Unfortunately the dialogue becomes a bit soppy and broonsesque as the film progresses, but that's a minor hiccup in one of the best feel good films of this year.

Spencer K (br) wrote: of course it has those found footage cliches abound, but Houses October Built still really surprised me. there's some truly creepy scenes here and the atmosphere of it all really works with the tone set by the film and the overall premise of it. liked this quite a bit.

Michael C (au) wrote: One of the best films I've seen in a long time. Very emotional, and the acting, soundtrack and cinematography are supreme. Although loosely based on the novel "The Wives of Bath", I enjoyed this film much more than I did the book. You cannot look at Piper Perabo's crying face and not cry yourself. I highly recommend this film!

Jake A (kr) wrote: The third and final part of the Man with No Name trilogy is the best of the three thanks to Leone using the experience gained from the previous two to give us a truly epic Western. Though I do have a general problem with the length of the film (as some parts seem unnecessary) at least the rest is used to bring forth character development, some intense and well shot scenes and the best action of the series. It also looks great (with even better landscapes than before), the score is immense, I like how the three main characters are set up, the plot is solid and the script though serviceable does have some noteworthy lines.

Four Star F (us) wrote: Starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Walter Brennan, Hoagy Carmichael, and with director Howard Hawks, this film is very reminiscent of Casablanca. On the small Vichy-controlled island of Martinique, a hardened seaman spends his days steering his boat and his nights at the local hotel. The French resistance stir up his life by asking for his help but he refuses. Everything changes however when he meets a mysterious young woman (Bacall). Their playful banter eventually leads them to a mutual affection. Wanting to help his new found girl get home, Harry Morgan finally does agree to help the French and in the process he shows his true colors. Cementing Bogey and Bacall as a star couple, and immortalizing a certain line about how to whistle, this film is a good one. It has everything you come to expect with Bogart and it gives you something special in Bacall.

I guarantee you will chuckle at least thrice if you watch this film. With an interesting concept, breath-taking story-line & amazing directions, I'm really looking forward to watching the next sequel!

Nathan M (de) wrote: A loving documentary about a man with a very interesting life. It's so overly positive that any cynical person might wonder, "What are they hiding?" However, I don't think that really matters. If you're just a fan of Hollywood stories, you'll find plenty to enjoy about Supermensch. So many great stories, some may not be totally true, but you don't care, because they're interesting. And in the world of documentaries, for me at least, I'll take some stretching of the truth in order to keep things interesting.
