Dylan E (fr) wrote: Culturally, this is an interesting film, but for me that is about where the interest ends. Although it is only 75mins long, short in comparison to most of today's films, it still take a long time to tell what is a very simple story. Each scene drags out every cut and the movie simply does not have the strength to carry off this slow editing pace.At the beginning of the film, we are told that the Merja people have little expression to their faces. This will be evident through the film as the main characters show little sign that the loss they experience is tragic to them, instead it simply feels as if they are getting on with what they feel they should do.I have no particular praise for the over-acting, fairytale stories of love and hate with excessive bi-polar like emotions of the western equivalent but I was left feeling no empathy for the main characters and having not really enjoyed the film much at all.It is an unusually emotionless story of mortality, and it does have its place, I just cant agree with the bulk of the critics here that it deserves such praise placed upon it.

Rameshwar I (nl) wrote: A fascinating story that is engaging, fun but very superficial and inconsistent (especially the character fluctuations) following a similar pattern as movies 'K-PAX' and 'Sound of my Voice'.Worth a watch for its entertainment factor with no deviation from the plot approach and avoid putting much thought into its plausibility.

Ed Q (gb) wrote: There are some interesting scenes and personal revelations scattered throughout "Bergman Island", but the majority of the film is too dull to be absorbing.

Andrew M (de) wrote: Blades of Glory is hilarious and a fantastic comedy movie. This is another Will Ferrell funny classic movie. I will say the trailer to this movie looked stupid, but I decided to see the movie anyway and man was I wrong. This movie is great. Impossible not to laugh. Will Ferrell and Jon Heder are hilarious together. The plot of the movie is even greater. I would very much suggest this movie.

Brad S (it) wrote: I've lost track of how many times I've seen this, probably at least 10. It Just doesn't get old for me, it's hilarious. So many quotable lines. Brian Cox is awesome. Cool soundtrack. One of my fave comedies of all-time!

Spencer H (us) wrote: The four stars is only for the Recobbled Cut version; it greatly represents Richard Williams true vision for the film. It features some of the best animation I have ever seen in my life.

Sean C (jp) wrote: This is a genuinely funny and smart movie, with some great one-liners, such as if my head wasn't hurting so much I'd a sworn I was in heaven, heaven for guys who like big tits.? Then there is the virgin dance of the double chainsaws.? There is even chainsaw to chainsaw combat! It also helps that I love private eye movies.
