Sheridan P (mx) wrote: What IS this? Was this film super sexy because it was French made, or because the cast was French? It was a very good film. Funny, quirky, sad, sexy. I LOVED it. As usual, if you don't do "reading movies", you are seriously missing out. Experiment, watch them. U will find some real humdingers!!!!

Aroon K (jp) wrote: A fascinating glimpse into the bizarre world of the Aum Shinrikyo cult, infamous for the deadly sarin attack on the Tokyo subway. As much as your first instinct is to revile the people you see in this film, you just can't - they seem more like sweetly dorky, lonely, misguided souls than a vicious killer cult. In the end the sheer ambiguity of the situation leaves you disoriented with a strange mix of emotions. A flat-out brilliant, criminally unknown movie.
Robert I (gb) wrote: The Leprechaun does Los Angeles! ... And it's not too brilliant an affair, rarely even playing to the fact he's in Hollywood. The film is darker in tone than the first, except where it's a bizarre fairy tale about a Leprechaun trying to make a slave's descendant his wife. The two leads are pretty good. The boy has to carry the majority of the film and manages to. Shevonne Durkin has a husky voice, but actually looks like a teenager... She also does a lot of acting with her eyes. This has always been Leprechaun 2 to me, so instant good review.

Jon P (es) wrote: Depression-era drama doesn't get more dastardly than Arthur Penn's audacious account of America's eponymous outlaws. The doomed lovers are played to tragic perfection by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, but it's Penn's explosive direction that really steals the show, giving us a rip-roaring road movie with killer cross-cutting, a stunning soundtrack, gorgeous visuals AND Greek-grade emotional weight. Not only is this a landmark movie in terms of cinematic violence, it's a through-and-through cinematic joy. And on top of that, it goes out with a real bang. A real BIG bang. Essential cinema.
