Aside from some almost slap stick moments, Otto is superb as the focus point. Beautiful photography & men will always earn a couple of stars from me. Highly recommended.
Nick A (it) wrote: Could be not too bad but although it's a long movie, it seems they were jumping logical steps to get along. Conversations had potential but were cut off or stereotyped, some characters were without depth or lacked significance (hello, Billy?), and please keep Alonso out of the business.

The story of Trumbo is interesting and well told but unfortunately the whole movie feels like a pretty by the numbers bio pic. It doesn't offer enough surprises to really different differate itself. Despite that it's still wonderful acted and looking film and worth the watch.

Private U (br) wrote: A bizarrely twisted revenge/mystery/holiday plot lures (the ever-wonderful) Tadanobu Asano into a very confusing journey in this four-language co-production (english, thai, japanese and cantonese). It is certainly odd hearing Asano speak english and the initial multi-lingual confusion can be distracting but this is nonetheless a very absorbing, if rather nihilistic film. The rusty cargo-hold look is impressively consistent and Hye-Jeong Kang(?)'s character is great, though not really given enough airing. The convoluted plot is weakened by the mixed languages and length, which means that quite a bit of patience is needed though the strong tone, and of course Asano himself, do eventually come through...

You watch tentatively as a man throws himself fervently onto the wrong path, all the time urging him to listen to the voice of reason (his brother) and you become the voyeur of a young man's self destruction ending with a dramatic showdown, I'll leave it there and let you watch the movie to find out what happens...
Finalement dcevant.
