The 1960's are portrayed well with lots of happy smokers. And some superb classic cars..but they are all too clean ! So obviously restored and rented out for the film. Probably best to give this one a miss.

(fr) wrote: Commemorating Pearl Jam's twentieth anniversary comes, 'PJ20.' A career-spanning documentary from director Cameron Crowe. From the band's inception as Mother Love Bone, to the actual formation of Pearl Jam, to the present day ... it's all covered in great detail. One of the many cool aspects of this documentary is that Cameron Crowe allows each band member to tell the band's story. There is no guest narrator, instead you're hearing Pearl Jam tell their story, and all five members contribute equally in this film. Each one gives a genuine, honest account of the band's past & present. The band is not, and was not short on friends, however. With the likes of Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl, Layne Staley and Neil Young - you really get a feel for how well they are liked and loved by not only their fans, but their peers as well. The movie isn't complete without footage and there is literally, tons of it. I was blown away by the amount Cameron Crowe included. From beginning to end, it feels non-stop. Fan footage, behind-the-scenes, concert, home video, news/media, it's all here. Obviously, you have the band's music played throughout, as well as music video clips. As I mentioned above, the story is career-spanning - which is what you expect. The thing that elevates PJ20 is the amount of depth, we're not just given a sampling of this band's life, we are taken inside. We see the struggles with Andrew Wood's death, how the band name Pearl Jam came about. The grunge-era and the whole Seattle scene in the early 90's. We are taken inside the creation of Ten, the selection of it's album art. The struggles with stardom, and the court battle with TicketMaster in the mid-90's.I will end by saying, music lovers really need to give this a look. It goes without saying, if you're into Pearl Jam at all - it's a must. Now, I haven't seen Metallica's 'Some Kind of Monster,' so, I can't compare 'PJ20' to it. For me, this is the best music doc I've seen. The amount of goodies here will satisfy with multiple viewings.Cameron Crowe delivers in a big way.

(gb) wrote: An fantastic little horror gem that was an pleasant low budget surprise. This was an ultra creepy supernatural/horror movie that kind of reminded me in some parts of the horror film The Blair Witch Project but a better version of it and without the shaky cameras. I thought the acting was better than expected and the atmoshere top notch with enough scares to please. This is one of those movies that gets better and better with each passing minute and ends with a bang! I urge them to make a sequel because there is plenty of room for one. Overall I can't recommend this enough because it will surprise you in more ways than one, so turn off the lights and get ready to get spooked! Strongly recommended!

An underrated gem that beckons it's audience to reevaluate the paths they've chosen and understand certain harsh realities that are prompting the self-destructive tendencies of today's youth. Brave and Ambitious, Everyone should see this film, especially the MTV generation. Impressive and still very Relevant.

(au) wrote: Yikes...what were the critics thinking? Not comedy enough to be a comedy, and not serious enough to be a mob movie. It's an awkward in-between, that leaves it...well, awkward. Horribly awkward.

(br) wrote: I know this is the third, and having not seen the second I was a bit lost. It's not too difficult to follow, but there were some things I had to figure out on my own. It doesn't quite have the visual flare of the first movie (though it has its moments) and the story isn't as interesting. Scorpion got her revenge in the first movie, and here it feels like things are just happening to happen. It's okay, but not as good as the first.
(it) wrote: "The Landlord", is witty, human, silly, and gory. the characters (and script) are particularly well done and thoroughly enjoyable. if you are a fan of low-budget horror flicks that have both a good story and a healthy sense of humor, you'd enjoy this movie.

(us) wrote: Bravo to the cast and crew of this Indy film! Directed and written by Chris Eska, it tells the story of a young black boy named Will (Ashton Sanders) forced by a white bounty hunter to find and bring back a freed black man named Nate (T. Scott). Once Will finds Nate, he lies to him in order to convince him to follow him back to the South. During this dangerous journey of survival, alliances and betrayals will take place. Film students and cinema fans, this is exactly how you make a terrific motion picture on a small budget! Best of all, it is available in HD on Netflix instant streaming. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
(kr) wrote: Great movie, Mark Walbergs and Joaquin Phoenix second performance together, the first being The Yards from 2000. It's a good story, with great acting and cinematography. It has some good scenes, such as the intense car chase in the rain which instead of being intense from action and sound effects, is intense from the realism of it, and the acting of Phoenix. Instead of using soundtracks in situations that most movies would use them, this movie tends to use the lack of sound to surprisingly good effect. The movie is good all the way through, never gets slow, and has a great ending. I don't know why this movie gets poor reviews because its great.
