Sure, it could have used a little more from the characters, but Kelly MacDonald and David Tennant were humorous and charming. A must see for fans of Richard Kelly movies or (again) romantic comedies

Jacob P (jp) wrote: I kinda liked this one, to be honest. I really liked the idea to this film, although it does seem like it's already been done before. It's still good, and the zombie make-up\effects were pretty good...although the acting was a little off. But i still like it! I say it's up there with "Severed: Forest of the Dead."

This is not a bad movie but there is nothing here that we have not seen before, except for the setting, perhaps. Most of the movie resembles "Platoon" in that these soldiers are wandering into unknown territory against a shadowy enemy. The idyllic beginning is straight out of "Stalingrad." Plus, there is one absolutely unbelievable moment late in the film. Some of the soldiers mention a "Winter War" which got me to do some research online at Wikipedia. The "Winter War" was an opening act in World War II, as the Soviet Union as part of its pact with Germany, sought to recapture Finland which had become independent in 1917. "Ambush" takes place at the beginning of the "Continuation War" which would extend to 1944. So, it seems that these two conflicts could be seen more as a continuing conflict between the two countries, rather than as a major part of World War II.

Carole T (es) wrote: What a terrible film...the performances are so hammy I was cringing the entire way through. Some ok special fx and a half decent ending kind of make up for it.

Ana B (us) wrote: Rom-com with a twist. Sweet and smart crossword constructor Mary Horowitz meets cameraman Steve through a blind date and falls for him. After an unexpected twist of events she loses her job and decides to follow Steve and his special unit of reporters through the country. But Steve isn't so much into her, in fact he starts to consider her a stalker.Contrarily to what the title says this movie is not all about Steve but all about Mary or perhaps all about Sandra Bullock, she is the star and everything in it revolves about her character. She is funny, there is no doubt about it; in fact the whole film is based in her humorous skills and little else. There isn't enough story to keep us going for so long so we have several charming sketches where Mary/Sandra Bullock just talk non stop to cover up for the thin plot; and at points it works, in other moments you just feel like "Shut up, Mary!"

Joshua M (it) wrote: When I saw the trailer, I was really excited to see this movie. One of the best settings I have seen in a movie, Chernobyl Diaries has a really good first half with great shots and scenery, but a disappointing second half that is the opposite. Yuri was a great character though. Overall, much more could have been done to improve this movie, including more of a plot, and better characters.
