Desi H (us) wrote: pretty cheesy, but remined me of the goofy horror/comedy genres. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be funny though!

Blake B (ca) wrote: Sweet, and shot in a docu-like way. We Are the Best is a nice coming of age story, with strong female leads.

Brandon V (au) wrote: This movie is pretty terrific when it's just two guys bickering and fighting for survival in the scorching desert -- Duhamel and Fogler deliver career bests -- but when it tries to be anything more than that it sort of fails miserably... and laughably. That's just so unfortunate because, yeah, when "Scenic Route" is at its best, it's just plain dope, brergi. God almighty that ending was shitty, though.

Clive F (gb) wrote: A truly stunning documentary, I'm not sure I've ever seen a more beautifully filmed one.

Avirup S (ca) wrote: A great movie based on an awesome theme. And lots of good acting performance especially by my favourite Boman Irani..A great and refreshing movie. Relief from useless crime and psycho thrillers and over the top HOLLYWOOD moviesChristopher Nolan are you listening!!

Frank N (fr) wrote: Good relationship drama about the grass always seeming greener on the other side. Movie starts out in a nice pace, looses the plot a little in the middle but picks up at the end.

Aaron M (au) wrote: In true spirit of exploration movies before it such as Indiana Jones, Mummy and Tomb Raider, National Treasure rarely does anything different. That said, under the logo of Disney it does provide a very polished movie which can be enjoyed by all, especially parents. Book of Secrets has quite a lot going for it, including likeable characters, entertaining action sequences and quirky humour. I found the latter this movies strength, Nicholas Cages charisma offered something positive to the genre. The lead up to the treasure finding was better then the ending for sure but its a very enjoyable movie. The theme around Abraham Lincoln worked exceptionally well and gauged my interest instantly.

Dan M (ca) wrote: I want to like this movie. I love Herbie, but wow, this is a mess! The story is all over the place, the occasional CGI is out-of-place and doesn't fit the franchise, and Lindsay's boobs are distracting. Just watch the Love Bug instead.

Johnathon W (ru) wrote: Uneven Western that is great for the first 2/3's but falls apart at the end. The cast is excellent for the most part, with Kurt Russell giving one of his best performances as Wyatt Earp, playing him as someone who can believably stare down a man with a gun and gets great support from the rest of the cast, though there are so many some don't get the screen time they deserve. The highlight is Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday, giving the performance of his career in not only physically looking like a man stricken with tuberculous but also capturing his intelligence & sadistic demeanor. He's a man looking to die but wants to take a few with him along the way. Behind the camera, George Cosmatos does a solid job and the film gets credit for being more historically accurate than previous ones (Earp is depicting as a man more interested in making money with a vicious streak, while it's his brother Virgil that accurately leads as town marshal). There are some nice gunfights to, with the O.K. Corral shoot-out being one of the best ever filmed. Unfortunately, the final third falls apart at the end, turning into an action montage with little plot (though a few more nice scenes for Earp & Holiday). Overall, a very fun film to watch, despite it's flaws.

eric e (us) wrote: What you got here is a Really Big Movie that didnt get made. The studio decided it was costing too much and pulled the plug. What remains is some great stuff that doesnt quite work. I sometimes wonder what it might have been if it had been completed.

Dave H (nl) wrote: The story follows Manoel and his wife as first they join a backlands religious sect and then a band of cangaceiros. Rocha encapsulates sertao legends Antonio Coselhero and Lampiao in this ambitious "sertao-western". Unfortunately the second half is too slow and talk-laden, just when the story demands swift violent action (Manoel does join a band of ultra-tough outlaws). Still, this is a remarkable film. Given Rocha was so young, I'd like to see what he achieved later in his career.
