There IS an interesting story to be told about the 40 years when the Cylons disappeared and the seven human-looking Cylons were created. The relationship between the seven Cylons and the final five and how they grew to decide that the human civilization needed to be destroyed would have made a good movie. This isn't that movie. Most of the leading human only appear in file footage and some of the original footage looks like it came from the cutting room floor. There are some revelations, but way too few. Other than a chance to revisit some of the characters (which was enough for me to give it 21/2 stars), there is not much reason to see this move.

(ca) wrote: The movie takes awhile to get moving. There are a lot of neat elements to it, making it a unique film to see- yet it gets slow at times and frankly the plot is dull for the most part. The characters have potential and the ending leaves nothing closed. Probably isn't too hard of a film to outdo.

(ca) wrote: It's so insane that it works. It spoofs up Rambo, Terminator etc... Charlie Sheen should do more movies like this. Brilliant funny moments espeically near the end and some great little touches make this a spoof they don't make any more. Again Lloyd Bridges stills most of the scenes as the president. While some jokes are a little hit and miss, a bad joke is then replaced by an excellent one.
(it) wrote: This movie's an absolute gem - it's bad, really bad, Uwe Boll bad, but you can't help but enjoy it for its huge cliches (starting with the title), corny lines, bad acting and gratuitous in-your-face nudity. Only for fans of the genre.

(kr) wrote: One of the great 60's war films, right up there with The Guns of Navarone, The Dirty Dozen and Where Eagles Dare, which all presented World War Two as a great visual spectacle. In this particular film we have Rock Hudson, portraying a Canadian military officer, being rescued from capture by the French in North Africa by a group of Jewish German commandos under the leadership of George Peppard, here in one of the many action roles he worked in before he became the leader of the A-Team on television. The Jews want to fight back against their Nazi oppressors and have a definite axe to grind, and the British just want to see Rommel's advance towards Egypt stopped dead, and to do that they mount an ambitious, suicidal mission to destroy his fuel depot in Tobruk, using these Jewish soldiers and Hudson, who is familiar with the desert and its terrain. It's a top-notch cast, with many well-known British character actors, and it certainly is a fine action film which has no bones about showing the Germans as formidable opponents, which they certainly were.
