(br) wrote: Despite some over dramatization, this film showed an excellent dipiction of those affected by mental illness directly and the ones around them who are equally as affected. I definitely recommend this film.
(fr) wrote: Fascinating and disturbing. These are not necessarily people one will relate to, as they freely admit. But they are people who will at least interest you. And the art is wonderful.

(jp) wrote: It's quite a good plot and in the right hands would be fairly entertaining. The acting in this one is terrible though, but you can easily see it being remade with bigger actors one day.
(fr) wrote: A way before its time story about "reality" entertainment. Brooks at his best. Great job, as always, by Charles Grodin. A really fun film.
(jp) wrote: So Cate Blanchet can do Irish pretty well too. This is a very good film about the sad story of this Journalist who was obviously pretty famous in Ireland. Spice the film up by using the seldom dull bits to try and remember the character names of the Father Ted actors that pop up in this.
(us) wrote: Having went to a screening of this followed by a Q&A with both Director Richard Kwietnowski and John Hurt it shed alot of light behind the film which probably made me like it alot more, John Hurt plays the lead very well, its definatly hard to pidgeonhole the film, its not a gay film, its not a comedy, its not a stalker film and its not an art film, The moments of humour in the film definatly make it an easier watch and i think it goes as far as it should in the end which also adds to its appeal.

(kr) wrote: Not a classic but a well worth watch and not a run of the mill movie. Great soundtrack also and another fantastic performance from Oldman. The last 5 minutes of this movie has always remained in my thoughts. Fantastic
(au) wrote: such a good blend of old school horror and comedy. not too much in the way of gore, just implied morbidity for a lot of the movie. great acting and a fantastic nostalgic setting for this black comedy.
(ru) wrote: While it may no longer be the fright-fest it once was, there's no denying that the excitement, suspense and tension of Steven Spielberg's seminal blockbuster never seems to diminish with the skill, craft and sheer quality of the piece becoming only more evident as time goes on.
