Andrew M (it) wrote: While rustically charming and containing enough laughs to entertain, it's also cliche to the point where it actually annoyed me. The acting is fine, although the forced romantic interest's (FRI) accent comes and goes. It's the story itself that bothers me. This is possibly the definitive example of the liar revealed story, particularly egregious due to how oblivious the doctor has to be to be unaware of the events around him. Yet everything is revealed -- save a corporate BRIBE -- and resolved in the final 4-5 minutes of the film. With no consequences. Everything's forgiven, everyone gets what they want, not even a lesson learned. Also, given that her role is almost literally forced (not in a physical way, to be clear) due to the lie, the FRI plays very little part here. Given the running time of almost 2 hours, that leads to a very pat ending. It's rather creepy how far everyone went for the lie; I get they're desperate, but for supposedly good people they're rather despicable, particularly how they get their information. If you just like fairly solid acting, some laughs, and nice scenery, you may enjoy this more than me. Personally, the setup and lack of consequences bothers me too much to recommend this.

Micah D (fr) wrote: After being burned by the absolutely horrible Dead Space: Downfall, I decided to give this one a try. This film is simply....bland. It has no structure, it lacks solid character, and the CGI is laughable by comparison to the actual game. The action is forced, the characters don't make sense. It's just a cluttered mess. What the film does as a positive is deepen the universe. New players to the game are introduced that could change the way the story of the games work. That alone makes it better than Downfall, but in the end it's barely worth a rental.

Allan C (us) wrote: From the director of "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo" comes this 1980s Canon films classic about an aerobics instructor possessed by the spirit of an evil ninja who uses her to seek his revenge upon those who killed him. Lucinda Dickey plays the aerobics instructor, which is kind of fun since she was one of the most charming elements of the Breakin' films and having only ever appeared in six films. However, although the ninja fight scenes and goofy supernatural scenes (including floating swords and demonic arcade games) are fun, the film is pretty bad. Low points include a sex scene involving V8 Juice and and a ninja taking about a hundred bullets without any bullet holes. But then again, Sh Kosugi in an eyepatch is pretty cool. In someways is kind of a goofball synthesis of 1980s B-picture sub-genreas; ninjas, dance/aerobics, demonic possession, etc. Overall, it's mixed bag, but pretty fun if you're a fan of 80s style ninja movies.
