Logan B (jp) wrote: Even though this movie wasn't at that level of intensity and emotions like it's 2 predecessors were, Star Trek: Beyond was still an enjoyable film with a compiling story, outstanding visual effects and a good chemistry between the members of the USS Enterprise led by Capt. James Kirk (Chris Pine) who was really good as well as the rest of the cast.

Tiago C (gb) wrote: Ridiculous adaptation of another book by Stephen King.

Pondering T (ca) wrote: Right from the beginning you know this is not going to be a happy film, and you know by the time the lead actress gets back to Germany from Turkey and deal with the reaction from her family, it will just continue to go down hill until one of two things happens. And so, one must prepare themselves for one of those things, but along the way we are treated to a, never over the top (well it does get a bit dramatic near the end with one particular scene in my thoughts), thoughtful depiction of one women's struggle to find her own voice in a culture/religion that can often stifle that (depending on how the persons in that said culture/religion interpret their learning's/teachings).This is a theme that has been touched on in films before, but I did enjoy watching these issues being explored in this family. The characters are not too complex, but they are given enough exposure so you do feel that you are really seeing what it is like for women in this situation. The story is not all one sided. It does offer glimpses of women whom are independent, strong and not controlled by the literal meanings of their teachings, but this is the story of a women whom is caught in the opposite situation, and overall (except for the one scene near the end, which I can forgive the movie for), I found this film to be well executed... not a happy film by any stretch of the imagination, but a film that had something important to say for a segment of women whom often don't, or cannot find their own voice.

Janice M (gb) wrote: Not the best acting or script, but an important message and much more positive and worthwhile than alot of the fodder out there.

Paul D (nl) wrote: The back-to-nature story is a pleasant watch, but the casting of Brosnan has to be questioned. For an on-screen persona who is always going to be known as 'Bond', this is as far removed a character as it gets, and he doesn't work well in the role.

John S (kr) wrote: Drunken Master is not exactly a timeless classic because its comedy and acting doesn't age well, but its fight scenes sure do. The choreography is magnificent but the story and characters might get on your nerves, which is typical of similar chopsocky films. But it's not hard to appreciate and respect the film for its influence and importance. Truly, a great example of classic Chinese kung fu films of the 70s.

Les E (au) wrote: Thrilling story about action behind enemy lines as the third reich crumbles and they get desperate. It had a real feel about it which added to the grittiness.

Patrick W (br) wrote: This was a decent adaptation to Stephen King's novel (where the story comes from). While it does not touch on important plot points in the novel, it still is effective in its story of an outsider girl with special powers. It was nice to see the film explore more into Carrie realizing her powers than the original one. Also, Moretz is actually a teenager (like Carrie) in this film. In the previous version, Sissy Spacek was in her mid-20s when she shot the film. Not the best Stephen King adaptation and only a decent re-make.

Timothy F (gb) wrote: I do not know how this movie did not rate higher... really good

Mark A (jp) wrote: Black comdey about white trash! <---That is the tagline for the film. Every person I turn this film onto, they love it! Cult classic (that became a television show as well) about a family coming to together for their "fast" mothers funeral. Hysterical.
