Jeffrey M (mx) wrote: 44 Inch Chest is a confined dialogue-driven movie which tries to give a unique, meditative, and humorous take on the revenge genre, in a style not unlike that of The Big Kahuna and other adapted-from-theater films. I respected the ambition, but it's largely undone by an inconsistent tone, ranging from somber to humorous to mind bending-quirky. The blend never quite works. The cast is very strong, full of familiar character actors, but they never really create enough chemistry to carry the unfocused material. They, like the audience, never quite know what sort of movie they are in. It's an interesting misfire, to be sure, but one that most will undoubtedly find frustrating.2.5/5 Stars

I have just gotten out of bed eaten breakfast and watched Spy hard starring the great and legendary comedian Leslie Nielsen, which you can also find as frank Drebin in The naked gun, its followers and as the president of the united states of America in the Scary Movie movies, among others. This movie has got it all, well almost anyways. It has got love, World war, the wish to save a woman, the desire for world domination, camouflage, a black hawk, Hulk Hogan, a limousine, dodge charger, a little vintage, stupidity, special gadgets and gizmos, hairy legs, sexy legs, foxy ladies, sex, weird Al Yankovich, blood splatter, knife throwing, swords, more cars, horses, stripping, naughty secretaries, flirting at a expert level, snakes, hover boats, jets, crossdressers, Mr.T, vengeance, unhealthy perhaps hazardous amounts of comedy, parodies and guns, guns, guns as far as the eye can see. It has its own theme song which was written just for the movie obviously. It was written by Weird Al, I am pretty sure. The song was good, if not great and it had a pretty decent Music Video, if you can call it that. It was the opening of the movie so, it was an opening song. And boy dit it open. It opened the movie with a boom! It was, as mentioned earlier filled with comedy, Funny comments, jokes, wit, situations and so on. And the mix of all these made the movie so great, along with the music which brought it to life like Dr. Frankenstein and his monster. Another thing it was filled with was stupidity and idiocy, but when I sit down and think about it, that is a part of its charm. And it was also filled with parodies, yes parodies, or spoofs if you will. They have taken bits of different movies and mixed them up inside this one. I mean I could see Home alone, sister act, Indiana Jones Rambo, E.T., Jurassic Park, Ray, Austin Powers and I think I saw Dracula or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in there, there was many more as well, like The A-team and The Police Academy. And I found it especially funny that they brought in ACME from Looney Tunes All this did a job in making it what it is, which is hilarious or extremely funny. I just want to give a hand to the creators of this movie. They, along with the actors and everyone else who contributed really did a hell of a job and deserve a hand. The acting in this movie is explosive! In a good way of course. I got totally blown away when I saw it for the first time, this was obviously not my first time, maybe my 10th or something like that. It was generally mindblowing. True story! Now to sum it up it seems to me, that it would be best if we all agree. Lame, I know, but I felt like rhyming so. I will just give you a little summary of my opinion of the movie: It was generally hilarious, explosively funny, the music was more than just a little good, and the acting was great. So, basically I give it 8 out of 10 stars, why the 2 stars missing? Some times it went a little to far, but that is my opinion. Thanks for your time, and see you around. Feel free to comment and share your opinion of both the movie and my review, both good or bad. Yours Truly - Shevy

Andrew D (jp) wrote: A bleak, subtle, timeless masterpiece. Fantastic cinematography, editing, score, acting, direction...just about perfect in every way, except maybe the story. It's very slow-moving and requires some historical context.
