Mr. Hoppy is a shy old man who lives alone in an apartment building. For many years, he has been secretly in love with Mrs. Silver, a woman who lives below him. Mr. Hoppy frequently leans over his balcony and exchanges polite conversation with Mrs. Silver, but he is too shy to disclose how he feels. Mr. Hoppy longs to express his feelings to Mrs. Silver, but he can never bring his lips to form the words. Mrs. Silver has a small pet tortoise, Alfie, whom she loves very much. One morning, Mrs. Silver mentions to Mr. Hoppy that even though she has had Alfie for many years, her pet has only grown a tiny bit and has gained only 3 ounces in weight. She confesses that she wishes she knew of some way to make her little Alfie grown into a larger, more dignified tortoise. Mr. Hoppy suddenly thinks of a way to give Mrs. Silver her wish and win her affection.

Chris O (ru) wrote: This is not a structured narative so most western viewers are going to have a hard time appreciating this piece. It is, first and foremost, a moving work of art with a semi-linear flow. It's not "all over the map" but it does repeat certain elements to re-focus our attention.Neither the original title nor the English title have any direct relationship to the story, although I rather prefer 4600 Million Years of Love. A love that has endured over ages and re-occurs in a new milieu. If you let the movie drift through your conscious without trying to capture the narrative, you're more likely to appreciate the experience. The butterfly may be the mostly easily captured element of the story. You may of course simply follow the plot line, but that's mostly besides the point and can lead to a degree of frustration. If I were to compare this to another film it would most likelly be 'La rivire du hibou' aka "Incident at Owl Creek Bridge" by Robert Enrico.

Iwan D (es) wrote: A weird, psychological thriller that keeps you gripped through out. Its premise is an original one which is supported by a good performance by Daniel Craig and a spell-bounding one by Rhys Ifans, who, arguebly, produces one of the best performances of his career.

Michael L (nl) wrote: HAVOC was never released in theaters and man is there a reason why. This film is so dreadful, so forced, and so phony, you truly want to take back Barbara Kopple's two Oscars. Thank god she has not made another fiction film. Sadly, HAVOC is so inane it ain't any fun like a truly bad movie should be.

John K (nl) wrote: Fairly typical but enjoyable slasher from the director of squirm. Good kills and decent acting, this one should appeal to 80s fans. A bit influenced by TCM, this movie dares to include a naked red head - gotta respect that.

EWC o (br) wrote: Charming, funny, and likeable, although the editing is choppy and the end is haltingly abrupt. I have mixed feelings about the horrific car race sequence at the end were a minimum of 4 men die terribly.
