His Brother (Rick Moranis) is tired of living in his brothers shadow and decides to make a team of the misfits, which include his daughter, who were not good enough to make his brothers team. In a true underdog story the Little Giants take on the overpowered Cowboys in this family fun comedy. The film has great references to football, has some great comedy and is one of the great Disney films of its time that seem to be too far and between today.

Jason M (ag) wrote: Social commentary may not be the first thing that comes to mind when discussing World War Two, yet this is what truly sets Cross of Iron apart from the plethora of war cinema. James Coburn flawlessly portrays the ruthless yet struggling Steiner, and even amidst a score of war film stereotypes Sam Peckinpah captures the blood and mire of the Eastern Front with brutal finesse. While its ending may come off as sudden and confused, at Cross of Iron's heart is the conflict between the working man's soldier and the aristocratic cowardly commander; war's blue and white collars.

Ashley H (it) wrote: If this movie was simply Gene Kelly and Judy Garland exchanging quips and singing and dancing in a coffee shop, then it would still be entertaining. But that's really not all it is. This movie is more like a drama/romance than a musical, in the way that there are some songs, but there is more story than numbers. Yes, the idea is an old one, but there are a few twists that distinguish it from any other wartime romance. The little plot weaknesses are forgotten as the actors hold it all together. I recommend For Me and My Gal, unless you're dead-set on a tear-free day.
