Haunting story about a man who miraculously survives a car crash that should have taken his life, only to discover that he has cancer and must find his parents to help with treatment. It's this journey that makes him unravel dark secrets from his past. --- Incredibly dark story, with just enough scary scenes for me. The entire cast is brilliant. Spanish movie but with cast from Iceland and Germany. This was categorized in the Vanguard program at TIFF, and it does so well in defining that program - dangerous, sexy, creepy... I don't know what else I can say without giving it away, but it's definitely a suspenseful story. Maybe a tad predictable, but the journey of getting there leaves you at the edge of your seat all the way through.

(ag) wrote: A terrible terrible low budget film. But it knows it's bad so that's ok. Every character is nothing more than a stereotype: the half-mechanical soldier trying to reclaim his humanity, the mad scientist, the Asian kung fu master with a terrible dubbed-in voice... So bad and yet so good. I think the best way to tell if you'll like this movie is seeing how you react to this fact: the main villain is a demon from hell called Count Draculon. If you want to kill yourself (in a bad way) you're going to hate this film. If you want to kill yourself (in a good way) you'll love it. Simple.
