There is a lot to admire in this film, Sen builds a compelling story (if a little too rough around the edges at times) and raises some difficult questions about life on the mission, but I can't help feeling that Sen's attempt at going for an almost dogme 95 level of naturalism hampers his attempts to emotionally engage his audience.

Raji K (jp) wrote: After a long hiatus, Nolte and Murphy return in Another 48 Hours. This time Murphy has top billing and has the film under his own production company. This time the brother of the criminal of the first film is in town hoping to get revenge on Murphy who is about to be released from prison. Nolte is trying to finger a mysterious drug dealer known as the iceman, but his career is in jeopardy as the internal affairs are after him. Another 48 Hours has some solid action scenes, but loses some of the grit of the first film.

From the changes he made to the ultimately theatrical release of Superman II and this film, it's pretty sad. This film shows a synthetic kryptonite laced with tobacco tar, splitting Superman in two: a good Clark Kent and a bad Superman. This leads to a showdown between the two in a junk yard. This "split personality" story was really lost on me. It was interesting to see what an "evil Superman" might do, but I still didn't like it. The opening sequence was also laughable, but in a very bad way. Pryor served up some comic relief as a computer programmer that gets in with the wrong crowd but doesn't save this film. When Joel Schumacher got the Batman franchise gig, I'm pretty sure he called Richard Lester for some tips.

The storyline for this picture reminded me of Priest in some ways. This is a science fiction futuristic western that has a very "Blade out west" action sequences. The acting is mediocre and the cast includes Wesley Snipes, Tanit Phoenix, Kevin Haworth, and Steven Elder."Trouble with the damn is, they never stay put..."This was recently added to Netflix so I decided to randomly add it to the queue and give it a shot. It was okay with some worthwhile scenes but a pathetic plot that was clumsy and ridiculous in parts. This is a below average addition to the genre that is worth watching only if nothing else is on."You my whore or what?"Grade: D+/C-
