(jp) wrote: If I didn't love the subject matter it would be a rather dull documentary. It lacks focus and skips probably the most interesting part of their story and focuses on the more depressing part. Luckily we get lots of amazing concert footage and I could listen to Glen talk all day. This film just seems like it could have been great but sadly a missed opportunity.
(br) wrote: Rachel Weisz acts well, and the film is evocative of time and place. However, there is excessive use of the tragic violin, sepia tones and soft aka blurred focus. Adapted from a play, it's about the characters and their relationships, and the times that they were living in. It didn't excite me.
(gb) wrote: Has some great performances and very dramatic scenes, however it really suffers from having a largely unsympathetic lead and a confusing, unsatisfying ending.

(gb) wrote: A terrible movie that is saved by cool CGI. Sure, there is nothing believable about the film but that's not "why" you wanted to see it. You wanted to see San Fran get destroyed, and you got it. The acting is so bad, you will laugh at the impossible scenarios but, you will be entertained enough to enjoy the popcorn.
