Matthew M (gb) wrote: War Horse is both emotionally gripping and surprisingly heartfelt - and it never feels manipulative thanks to Spielberg's confident and impressive direction that he always brings to the table, regardless of the film.

Petra v (ru) wrote: Great film. The characters are all extreme bad or extreme good :P

Mike D (ru) wrote: I felt this movie was a let down. The true story itself is great, so how did the film become so average? I didn't find it funny for a supposed comedy nor emotional and inspiring in the places it should be. It was stuck in a genre limbo.

Tim W (es) wrote: Very scary. Really prescient when you think about the corruption that has brought the world to it knees recently. Don Knotts is like Obama in a way, fumbling through the ashes left to him by Bush, (the town council). They kind of have a similar physical appearance as well...I also really dig the hot green chick from Star Trek. Not much swearing...that's good for religious folks I guess...

Ryan R (it) wrote: Excellent in almost every way. Sad and lacking a traditional narrative though.

Frances H (mx) wrote: To me, this film is a true horror movie, because ,instead of being based on an author or scriptwriter"s imagination, it is based on a real experiment that showed the world how easy it is to abuse authority to the point where young college students in an experiment became like Nazi guards in a concentration camp. The prisoners, like the concentration camp inmates, had done nothing wrong, yet their guards became truly sick sadists, drunk with power, who lacked any human compassion and empathy. What was more horrifying, was that it took so long for Dr. Zimbardo to stop the experiment. When an intelligent educator becomes one of the sadistic authority figures himself, it lets the rest of us know what a slippery slope basic human decency must overcome, and explains why some kind of genocide is always present somewhere on the planet.
