Jamie B (nl) wrote: One of the worst films i've ever seen. Total mess. Pathetic.

Paul D (au) wrote: This is not one of the greatest comedies ever made. Although it did make me laugh enough to not hate it, it is very generic at times. However, Williams and Crystal worked well together and that keeps the movie from ever being unbearable. .

John B (gb) wrote: I can't say enough good things about this film. Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei are perfectly cast in their roles. The chemistry between them is fantastic from start to finish. The script is excellent and the story is well thought out and put together. There's so many good laughs in this film it's hard to single out one in particular. The banter between Judge Haller and Vinny is hilarious and very well acted. The whole cast are well chosen and on top form!

Dustin P (mx) wrote: This film seems to have been a big influence on later films & TV. It's got transporters, phasers, people in space uniforms, and some other elements that would become common on sci-fi films and TV shows. *cough* STAR TREK *cough*The special effects were quite impressive for the time. The music was really memorable as well. I think part of the reason the music resonated with me so much, is that I realized it was featured in the 1978 movie Halloween (one of my favorites). It was playing on the TV when Tommy & Lindsey are watching and Tommy looks out the window to see Michael Myers carrying a dead body. Also one of the tracks sounded eerily similar to the music on The Shining (another favorite) when Jack goes into Room 237.However, despite all those good things, I have to admit that the film was kind of boring. I'm sure back then it was really exciting, but watching it now - not so much. The ending is a big letdown after it seemed to just start getting exciting. It's an important film that inspired future work and deserves recognition for that. It may not hold up in terms of story, but in almost all other aspects, it was very ahead of its time. I'm actually surprised that it hasn't been remade a bunch of times. If you're into the history of films and/or sci fi, watch it. Otherwise, it's not something I'd recommend to a casual movie watcher.

Kristopher P (de) wrote: Hitchock's rare comedy, but about a dead body. The movie has a wonderful dry wit and the new blu-ray version looks amazing.

Jack P (jp) wrote: From director Kevin Smith, more known for his comedies and playing the loveable stoner "silent bob" this was way out of style for him. Red state follows a hate preacher and his parish (loosely based on the west boro baptist church) hunting down "sinners" such as adulterers and gays. This film was a great first horror for kevin smith as it has suspense, action, plenty of gore and was a thrilling rush. A great, crazy film with a simple plot. Promising stuff.

Claire C (nl) wrote: I love this film so much, it makes me smile and cry and smile again - I'll often think about that immortal line and dance the little dance "up your bum! up your bum!" Well - it appealled to my childish sense of humour and made me happy.
