(ru) wrote: The script is a mess, some of the acting is terrible, but the end is fun (and Ellen Burstyn is always a pleasure to watch, there just isn't enough of her).

(us) wrote: Very nice. Robust little rom-com that came as quite a surprise to me. Namely - it stars MacFred... and I liked it. Even stranger - I liked him in it. Very well cast. As is Colbert, but Best on Ground is Richard Haydn. I haven't seen (or heard) him in much, but he certainly owns The Sound of Music and Alice in Wonderland, too. Look forward to seeing more of Leisen's stuff. I imagine I'll be getting around to Midnight soon enough.

(nl) wrote: Haunting, and Compassionately Affecting. Angelina Jolie delivered a near-to-life portrayal of the complicated life and character of Gia Carangi--the first Supermodel. It is a difficult movie, so difficult that you wanna turn it off. But,you can't. You will feel her. You will be involved. You just have to.

(it) wrote: I now like this movie more upon rewatching it. Dalton is really great at puling off the dark side of Bond, something Craig would attempt again in QoS. But while Craig manages to pull off Dark Bond well enough, he's just not on Dalton's level (at least for me).I do wish Dalton had been in 1-2 more Bond movies, but what's done is done. At least he got his sendoff as 007 on a solid note, which is quite a good thing indeed.

(fr) wrote: Fifteen minutes in and I immediately googled it. Those boring 15 minutes are representative of the rest of the movie. I changed channels!
(mx) wrote: I found this to be a rather disappointing Fred and Ginger picture. The dancing is great, as usual, and the two have an amazing chemistry that is fun to watch no matter the situation. But I found the plot boring and quite dreary. Fred and Ginger take a backseat here to the less interesting romance of Irene Dunne and Randolph Scott. You know a movie is pretty silly when its main conflict comes from the sale of a controversial dress. The lovers are really torn apart over a dress? Come on! Apart from some inventive dance numbers and some instances of witty dialogue, the film drags and doesn't come close to living up to the magic of some of their other films.
