The editing while not the best can be adjusted to mila and ali do a good job in there roles and the action is still as good as ever

(au) wrote: Both of these two stars I'm giving this film go mostly to the backstory, which in the opening of the film sounded intriguing. If the movie had focused more on that part of the story, it might have held my attention. The creatures were realistic and done well, and the cast is pretty impressive, but the story itself is disjointed.
(br) wrote: This cross of angst-ridden '70s road movie with Hitchcockian thriller is Australian director Richard Franklin's homage to "Rear Window." It has a curious tone, but sorta acts as a cinematic souffle -- lot's of air, but used effectively.
(au) wrote: From the intro with its jazzy cocktail music scored against the hustle and bustle of Earls Court this film is totally unlike anything else by Hammer, a disturbing psychological drama set in the fag-end of Swinging London's heyday, graphic and very sadistic & cruel in places, and with a cross-cutting, non-linear editing style obviously influenced by "Performance". It all feels rather twisted, sleazy, and nasty, watching the dysfunctional relationship between provincial waif/virgin Rita Tushingham and Shane Briant's androgynous, cherubic nutter lost boy, but in a strangely compelling and decadently seductive way. The story is peppered with references to Peter Pan, presumably a queasy analogy for the main characters' childlike detachment from reality and the adult world. This is no fairy tale, however - although for a short while our Peter & Wendy find themselves in a mutually convenient arrangement, until the illusion is shattered. Fans of the time will enjoy James Bolan's cameo, the dated period fashion & styles, and a rare speaking role from the beautiful Katya Wyeth. Great use of London locations including beautiful shots of the South Bank at night, and 'Peter's flat is one groovy pad!

(mx) wrote: The first half of the film ends up being a bore due to a story that just isn't all that compelling. There were also a few instances where the characters did stuff that didn't make a whole lot of sense. The movie tries to make up for these faults in the second half with a few action scenes and a final big action scene at the end that is quite engaging to watch. However it's not enough to save this film from being the worst out of all the Bourne movies. It's an OK film. Nothing more.
