Daniel S (nl) wrote: I was definitely interested in seeing this as I'm a big fan of the Frankenstein films, this film had some potential, McKellen is really good as Whale, and I loved the flashback scenes making the movies, but there wasn't enough of them, and while there were some good scenes with him and Fraser, their relationship seemed inconsistent as to what each person wanted, and Fraser seemed kinda miscast, also the maid was super annoying I couldnt stand her, couldve been really good but unfortunately doesnt reach those levels

Jeff B (nl) wrote: A couple of scenes are good, but this film is not really well-written and it seemingly over-simplifies everything. If this is how John Huston was--which I don't think it is--he was pretty much all awful.

Carlton R (nl) wrote: This was a very early gay film, with great story, thats captivating, from begining to end, a highly enjoyable love story

Andrew S (de) wrote: In an early talking western, Warner Baxter plays the role of The Cisco Kid from O. Henry's "The Cabellero's Way." The film has good cinematography and direction. The story line is a little weak and the action is slow for modern audiences. As a historic film relic, this film shines. It gives us a rare glimpse into the very earliest talking films and a chance to peek into the pre-Depression dime novel version of the wild west.

Sherry M (ru) wrote: Denzel Washington terrific, as usual. Pro basketball player that played his son was also very good. Spike Lee gets a bit heavy handed with his message about the pressure on great high school athletes, but makes his point. Downer ending - typical of Lee.

Luc L (ca) wrote: The worst murder mystery ever written for film.

Mayah M (gb) wrote: for the most part it was really funny, there were however, incredibly sad parts. the directing in this film was incredible.

OliverTodd H (de) wrote: Such a good romantic movie that will leave you in tears, unless you don't have a heart. It was super cute
