Paul D (fr) wrote: Not a great idea from the Bottom boys, however I saw this live at the Hammersmith Apollo and enjoyed seeing the show in all its glory.

Bhaavana P (gb) wrote: love the movie..but its lil bit like an art flick..

Mig M (au) wrote: It might be a ridiculous and completely dumb film by most critical standards, but dammit, the movie is entertaining and was not meant to be taken seriously. It's pretty hilarious.

Ricky M (br) wrote: B- Very overlooked film that's really funny and poignant. Ricky Miller

Addison P (fr) wrote: It was a feel good movie, Harrison Ford was funny in some parts. So were some of the people who flew with him. Not the best movie, about infidelity which is never a good thing. Glad it ended well though.

Ken S (kr) wrote: Jimmy Stewart stars in this well made mystery film about a Chicago newspaper man who reluctantly accepts a story about a decade old cop murder when the mother of the convicted man raises money to get him out, and finds himself not only convinced that the man is innocent, but relentless in trying to get him free. It is a good film that benefits greatly from Stewart in the lead, as he really holds it all together.

Tara H (kr) wrote: This recent spin-off got bad reviews, but it's an enjoyable rainy afternoon movie. Yes it's fluffy and inconsequential, but so was the TV series. It was a fair idea to make it a story within a story, and not just a re-run of the ubiquitous sitcom. Nicole Kidman is charming and vulnerable as Samantha/Isobel, her performance owing more to Marilyn Monroe than Elizabeth Montgomery, while Michael Caine, Shirley MacLaine and Steve Carell lend strong comic support.

Anson H (de) wrote: I saw this before I even knew what E.T was and after watching E.T, I can tell this is a slight rip off, and E.T is definitely better, but I still really liked this. I thought it had an interesting story, well developed characters and some creative ideas. It's good.

Tatsuhito K (fr) wrote: There are some great action set-pieces and Timothy Dalton is solid as Bond, but Licence to Kill is a little too long and often quite dull.

PJ P (kr) wrote: This is great stuff. When you die you go to this sort of run-down school or other institution building for a week. Here you are interviewed in order to get you to select your single favourite memory which will be the only one you retain when you 'move on'. OK, what would you choose to keep? It is the job of the small team who run this facility (and there are many more of them) to get you to choose the memory in the first three days: the rest of the time is spent making this memory into a film, an ordinary film which is shown in the viewing on the final day. Basic props - cotton-wool clouds, hand scattered petals - are used to make the films. We follow a group of 20 or so recently deceased of mixed ages through this process. Some of the interviews at the beginning of After Lifewere scripted, but most were real responses of real people. The central plot revolves around two of the 'counsellors', Takashi and Shiori and their relationship to each other and the clients. These, we learn, as all the other staff, perform their roles because they were unable to choose the one memory. In life Takashi had been killed in the Second World War and he discovers that one of his clients, old Ichiro, had married his fianc after his death. This leads Takashi to do some reassessment of what was important in his own life. This is movie without special effects or action. It's compelling essentially because it examines what ultimately has been the best memory, the best part of one's life. An early and entirely brilliant demonstration of Kore-Eda's mastery of his medium.
