Yes, it rather bizarre. Yes, there does seem to be a conflict between the main storyline and Fellini's commentary on the 80's technologically-centered culture...but Masina and Mastroianni are just excellent and totally endearing in this. But I was smiling from start to finish. I loved the score, loved all the ridiculous and intriguing characters we meet throughout the film, loved the camera work, loved the story, loved the denouement and the ending. I just LOVE this film. Simple as that.
