Satyagraha is the story of a son who yearns for a father. Of a father, who grieves for his lost son. Of a young woman who fights so hard with life that she has forgotten to love. Of an ambitious rabble-rouser, for whom action is the knee-jerk mantra. It is the story of how these four discover one another, and come together to raise hell, shaking the powers that be to their very roots! But, Satyagraha is also the story of an influential power-hungry despot who will stop at nothing to destroy them.

(fr) wrote: Has its moments, but the poor acting didn't lend itself well to the natural dialogue, as well-written as it is. I admired its ending and premise and wasn't bored by it, but just didn't find it to be that amusing or unique.

There were a handful of songs that I enjoyed, but here are the issues I have: 1) Almost all the songs were done via the ??play within a play?? motif. A true musical, I say, uses songs to advance the plot and/or develop a character. 2) A common occurrence of shows during this time period and was QUITE prevalent in this show- the protagonist behaves APPALLINGLY, but he??s never faces any real consequences for it! The girls get mad at him, but then ??come to their senses?? and go right back to him. I guess it makes me extra appreciate the strong female leads we see today. 3) It was boring. The plot had nothing to really get into. If you want to see a GOOD musical of that same time period, watch Guys and Dolls.
