Save Angel Hope
The 'Angel Hope' of the title is a fictitious nun - a little like Mother Teresa, only much younger and prettier - who works at a fictitious hospital in the South Pacific. The third fictional element is a hurricane which destroys the hospital, triggering a charity campaign to rebuild it. Needless to say, there are no more plans to build a new hospital than there was a hospital in the first place. And equally needless to say, things begin to go wrong right from the start, with love and religion getting in the way of good honest greed.

(kr) wrote: It was marvelous, i wish it was a real movie, not a short one, it could've been as good as Mary and Max then. Adam Elliot deserves every award his has won. It was just great.

It deals with a school shooting, but not quite, which is what makes it unique, and keeps delivering unexpected twists and surprises, as well as emotional punches, on a regular basis. Busy Philipps did an amazing job in this, I think. During and even after watching it you're left with a feeling that you're not quite sure whether it was good or bad, whether there was too much or just enough. Worth a watch.

(us) wrote: This movie is pretty bad! It also has bad acting, not to mention script. It has three lead characters and you actually get to see a naked Kirk Douglas on the floor wresting Harvey Keitel, which is probably the only laugh-out-loud scene in the whole movie!
(kr) wrote: Quite an imaginative story well acted. I suppose that this is a bit of a knock at religion if you read deep enough into it.

(mx) wrote: Great leads, good story, but I was really annoyed by the lyrics. "De 9 o' de spades be bad luck, sho' 'nuf." OK it's not THAT bad, but still annoying as hell, took me out of it in a hurry.
