Mel O (ag) wrote: Typically one of those "it's so bad, it's good" type of movies, terrible acting, and whoever designed the girls costumes needs shooting! Both had "muffin tops" yet both wore middrif showing tops?! Eeek! Some VERY questionable acting too, the girl who played Jane, wooden, emotionless, stiff, uncomfortable etc. But overall, not a bad effort seeing as the last half was very gory and brutal!

Ming Siu G (gb) wrote: This quiet and understated tearjerker hits the right notes without overkill, like director Yamada's skill. While meandering at times, the strong performances and characters still attract, and it all ends off on a rather unexpected, but very human coda. Not his best, but very good nonetheless.

Adriano B (au) wrote: Yes, it doesn't make any sense, but martial arts by Donnie Yen and outrageous emo hairdo win everything, period.

Kyle F (fr) wrote: This was a gem. I found it to be hilarious and enjoyed the numerous film references. The ending was rather cliche and the film's run time was a bit short, but the acting, direction and script were brilliant. I found the subtle, almost embarrassing humor to be genuine and quite funny. I also loved how raw the film was, showing you everything and not holding back from embarrassing moments (even a socially inept guy has to masturbate). The acting from Melik Malkasian was amazing, to say the least, and I found his character, while quite annoying, to be very intellectual and somehow cute. All in all, I really enjoyed the film and will definitely be following the actor and writer/director for future releases. Definitely not for everyone, but recommended.

Kyle B (nl) wrote: One remarkable movie with a tour de force performance from Geoffrey Rush one of my favorite actors to begin with. Kate Winslet is also quite good here and I'm not typically a fan of hers. Joaquin Phoenix and Michael Caine give stellar supporting performances. The writing is outstanding and amazing costume design. I really loved this movie

Private U (es) wrote: fuck yea! this movie is great! not as much martial arts as you would think a Bruce Lee writin movie would have had. It's all about Lee's philosophy that he lived each day by.
