Schwartz Dynasty

The Schwartz Dinasty belong to a long tradition of Jewish rabbis. The grandfathers took their faith and turned it into deeds coming to the Land of Israel to start a new life and build a country. Where are their descendants and how are they doing in the Israel of today?

Rony P (gb) wrote: A really charming and uplifting documentary about how the best sporting moments can provide identity and dignity to a region.

Brandon H (us) wrote: Definitely had an interesting story. The 'answer' was unpredictable.

Patrick P (ru) wrote: 4 stars for the new take on the zombie idea, less two for the unfocused, bi-polar storyline. There was just WAY too much going on here. When I first began watching this film, I kept thinking that the concept was so brilliant, but for the shaky acting and production (though the effects were impressive-- all things considered), but it settled down into what looked like a character study. It seems like every time the lead character, Angela, makes steps to becoming likeable and engaging, we're thrust back into this overly self-conscious political commentary that lacks subtlety and taste. It's sad, because I think that if the filmmaker had focused his film on how a person might deal with being a zombie and the social pressures that arise from it instead of trying to make it epic, he could've said a whole lot more, and the film would've been more watchable. There's just too much jumping to and fro, gun fighting, side stories, etc. and the editing was poor (a couple of characters with dialogue appear out of nowhere in the last act)-- where was he in the editing process? It was terrible! It was damn near two hours long! A lot of great ideas, but a lot of poor ones. Maybe next time, Fratto.

Andrea T (jp) wrote: I just saw "The Virgin of Juarez" yesterday on cable. It was an interesting mix of the real life rape and murders of poor Mexican women in Juarez since 1993 and the fictional story of a woman who survived and became a religious figure of hope for the families that have lost their daughters. This movie made me do a bit more research on the rape, torture and murder of the women of Juarez. My heart and prayers go out to the families that have lost their daughters.

Catherine W (us) wrote: What a beautiful film! A sweet, touching story with excellent actors. If you liked "Boy in the Striped Pajamas" then you'll probably enjoy this. The main actor (Ben Tibber) has such an expressive face and eyes.Gorgeous scenery, and a few surprises along the way. This is a movie the whole family can enjoy together.

Andrey B (kr) wrote: Nicely shot and executed in a slow pace, depicting the everyday life of a writer put in certain circumstanes in this particular movie. And these circumstances are the rural French house with a swimming pool and the daughter of the writer's publisher (or is she?). The film is enriched by the perfect Charlotte Rampling's performance and sexy Ludivine Sagnier.

Cory B (fr) wrote: damn this movie is raw one of the best ive ever seen

Blondemurphy B (ru) wrote: best weepie ever made, watched it with vicky, dad came in said he was turnin it off cause we were hysterical

Wes S (kr) wrote: Not as good as the first, but it's good on its own in some ways. It does get rather ridiculous, some parts are laughable, and it really wasn't needed, yet I can't say it wasn't enjoyable. While all it does it try to milk the first one into a franchise, I found it to be a decent follow-up.

Tomas T (br) wrote: 3 family father's in midlife crisis, and a lot of drunkness desperation about them. Not one of Cassavetes best, but it's a ok view.

Bruce B (br) wrote: Anytime you watch a Charlton Heston Movie you know 2 things, Its going to be outstanding and it's going to be long, and this movie is both. Also Laurence Olivier is in this and it makes it a awesome move with international flair. Seldom do we see a film made with this magnitude today, to be filmed on location. The movie is about the famous British General Charles Gordon who will not leave the Egyptians' behind in Khartoum and without the help of the British Government he vow's to stay in Khartoum until the bitter end. General Gordon was a God fearing Christian, which the movie brought out many times, and the foe was a Muslim, in today's pansy world when it comes to American Television you will not get any air play on this one as it might be insulting to some. So if you want to see it either special order or Netflix while they still have it. And it gets 5 stars in my review.
