David S (kr) wrote: As good as the first part although there is an underlying tension to this film as you are fully aware how it is going to end. Mesrine is older but not really wiser and his descent in middle age and baldness makes the film less glamorous that the first film. However there is still great action throughout and the film spends longer exploring his relationships with his friends, lovers and family. Both parts are great gangster films and character studies and of course Cassel is brilliant.
Ryan V (de) wrote: A priest hears a murder confession and then, bound by his religious oath, is unable to say anything when the police arrest him for the very same murder. Hitchcock once again plays with the trope of an innocent man haplessly caught in a web of deceit beyond his ken. Hollywood censorship required that the priest character be guiltless of any allegations leveled against him, and the movie goes to silly lengths to comply with this demand. Despite that, Montgomery Clift's striking performance in the lead role powers this film to an energetic finish.

Damjan R (ca) wrote: Tedious, paced like a snail and worst of all, stuck in between gears, 'Pride and Glory' wastes the talent on hand with its story retread. Bits & pieces are somewhat watchable (very small bits mind you) but the story on the whole is to unfocused to matter. The familial connection between officers and the actual families are hammered in the audiences face through the usual scenes, but fail to latch on. Not recommended, due to its formidable forgettableness but in the visual and the narrative.
