Sarah M (us) wrote: A bittersweet and eclectic piece, with a healthy balance of dark comedy and romance. Definitely a charming film that addresses many relatable issues in an unconventional and dramatic way. One of the sweetest and most believable romances in a recent film - not overdone, and not tacky.

Quite balanced in it's approach, it doesn't point fingers at any one leader; it does highlight that no one on either side of the aisle will make the hard decisions to cut entitlement spending. The film was released in 2008 so it didn't take into account how much worse it is with the big spender we have now. A good lesson in basic economics.

Angelina C (br) wrote: The comedy is fun mainly due to the casts that kept it afloat. Heather Graham and Thomas Cavanagh succeeds at being hot and goofy simultaneously. Not the best but it would be perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon

Timothy G (kr) wrote: A fun movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's always nice to see a movie featuring a woman that doesn't need to be rescued.

Stefan L (br) wrote: Ok Sunday afternoon movie. Nothing special and not particularly intriguing or well acted.

And - I must say - how fascinating kind!I really recommend being touched by the story of Sayuri, a child who is sold by her father to become a geisha. During the process, it's shown the trajectory of a girl who had to be brave enough to face a rigid destiny planned for her by other people.Perhaps the most interesting about watching this movie is taking a look at a new culture - the Japanese -, especially at geishas. There is a stunning atmosphere that involves the story. I would like to mention also the performances as one other positive aspect. The photography and the music are very beautiful, too.I recommend it for anyone who is interested not only in having fun with a movie, but also in using it as a cultural stepping stone.
