We should all be thankful for the research they did.....ANYWAYS that has little to do with the movie. I like that they went uncomfortable with it. I remember the part with the guy that talked about his pedophilia like there was nothing to it and that the person interviewing him was disgusted. I actually want to watch it again now.

It has a screenplay by Bill Goldman that's kind of a 60's "James Bond Cool" version of a Bogart detective film. Not only that it's shot by Conrad Hall! How can this not be awesome?*Shrug* The film ends up bumbling it's awesome ingredients and turns out to be a very passable, but unremarkable Who-Dun-It. C'est la vie

Hannah D (ca) wrote: I do not get the 95% average here. This movie came off more Lifetime than Best Picture to me. It was incredibly unrealistic, and not in a way I could buy into. I think a lot of it was the acting. I could not get into his emotional displays. All the Turkish people were bad and American/English people good. I don't think this is any better of a movie than Brokedown Palace. I found a lot of it boring. Had some interesting concepts about crime/punishment, but lacked much depth. I did like that the showed the main character as having flaws.
