In this modern take on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Frank Cross (Bill Murray) is a wildly successful television executive whose cold ambition and curmudgeonly nature has driven away the love of his life, Claire Phillips (Karen Allen). But after firing a staff member, Eliot Loudermilk (Bobcat Goldthwait), on Christmas Eve, Frank is visited by a series of ghosts who give him a chance to re-evaluate his actions and right the wrongs of his past.

Ben W (ca) wrote: a significant departure from the usual approach to samurai films. shinoda makes something more in the range of a medieval, political espionage film. at times it can border on being a bit over the top, it keeps its cool for the most part. your head may spin with all the characters and weaving plot details, but in the end it is fairly satisfying, severed extremities sailing through the air and all. but the best thing about this film is toru takemitsus music. latin jazz elements mixed with dissonant strings and traditional japanese percussion.
