Eric H (kr) wrote: Great acting and good, solid story line are just a couple of reasons why this is rated 5 stars. Donnie Yen delivered a solid performance, both in the martial arts as well as his acting skills. He really has come a long way. Zhao Wei is good as usual. Wu Chun did a great job with the fight scenes, especially against Donnie. Great cinematography. My only complaint was the waste of Sammo Hung, who did very little in the film. However, his presence alone gave you the sense of his character. So overall, good entertaining film.

Danny G (us) wrote: A brilliant portrayal of parenting, family, and love.

Austin G (mx) wrote: I actually really enjoy this movie. Especially Efron's number "Bet on It." It cracks me up every time.

Zack M (es) wrote: Acting: 4 starsIntrigue: 3 1/2 starsPlot: 4 starsA shocking historic story with strong performances from Bale and his fellow prisoners. Has a slightly cheesy start with a couple of quiet, dragging scenes, but is finished with a satisfying ending. A great film for war movie lovers. Overall: Worth It

Christopher S (ru) wrote: Preachy and disjointed message film raises some interesting questions, but then plays them out in the most obvious ways imaginable - usually with melodramatic screaming matches. Excellent performances, but none of the stories seem to lead to any satisfying conclusion. Some of the jittery hand-held photography is just nauseating.

Monica B (ag) wrote: Adrien Brody is phenomenal - as usual! He walks a very fine line between alienating the audience & going overboard by making Jack into an exaggerated & pathetic loner. In Brody's hands, Jack is flawed but real. One moment he's a jerk you cringe away from, the next he's a sympathetic figure. Brody stars as Jack: con artist, petty criminal, womanizer extraordinaire. Women seem to be attracted to his bad boy persona of which he takes full advantage. Then along comes Claire, a serious & intelligent college student. Blind to all of his many faults, she falls hard. Jack, obviously, spooks & pulls away. Claire develops stalker-like qualities, all the while hoping he'll see the light & leave his life of crime. The downward spiral of love & betrayal continues until Claire turns down a dark & unexpected path. The movie is set in a gritty & almost retro-looking New York City. The city's streets act as supporting characters as a brutally realistic look at the seedy underbelly of the Big Apple. Like the leading characters, they also seem lost & confused. Typical of an independent film, it is artsy, twisted & daring, but the story lacks that gripping climax you wait for throughout the film. It's a perverse tale of love gone totally wrong. Although, while it is tough to watch, it's also impossible to look away from.

Abbey W (jp) wrote: Ok, I know this movie isn't exactly groundbreaking or really all that special, but dang do I love it. I was introduced to this movie when I was in my teens and I've watched it quite a few times. The actors are absolutely fantastic, and I think it's just melodramatic enough. And the dance scenes! This is probably the best dance modern dance movie around. I would recommend it.

Tatsuya F (au) wrote: A spectacular and an accessible love story. But running time is too long, and I wonder it is necessary to make Billy Zane's character so bastard.

Zach M (es) wrote: This was a very boring and uninteresting supposed horror movie. It's surprising that it has a good pedigree with William Lustig directing, Larry Cohen writing, Isaac Hayes and Robert Forrester guest starring. The Uncle Sam costume looked so creepy to begin with. Not much happens in this film and the death scenes were all weak, either you just get to see the end results or very little gore.Only good thing was that it was short.

Mike S (de) wrote: Poor writing, an over the top and cheesy performance from Crowe, lots plot conveniences, loads of bad acting and ridiculous science kills off any chance of this film being any good. Its amazing that this film has 2 leads who would both win Best Actor Oscars in coming years.

M D (gb) wrote: This standard documentary portrays Asian American artist/architect Maya Lin and her production of memorials of significant social importance. The heated objection surrounding her Vietnam War memorial split veterans in half and demanded attention on subjects such as race, gender, and the futility of human lives. The film succeeds in showing Lin as a designer whose projects represent the significant thought she puts into each. Unfortunately the film feels like a classroom video, a standard informative fare that exists solely as textbookish back-story.

Karsh D (ag) wrote: Seagal makes his film debut truth it could have been his latest film in terms of plot but here he is 10 stone lighter and not mumbling too much. His films do get marginally better than this, but sadly not for long

Thomas B (es) wrote: Grade - C-This review is for the 'Final Cut' version of the movie-Blade Runner is an interesting sci-fi movie that's been the subject of controversy ever since it's release in 1982. The movie looks good, and features a mildly interesting story, as well as having an amazing ending (the unicorn symbolism). However, the movies pacing is a off at times, and the movies biggest mistake was not giving us an interesting human character to connect with. Another overrated movie that doesn't deserve the immense praise it gets. It's not terrible or anything, just not that good.

Christian H (us) wrote: Interesting Bond...James Bond. Sean Connery's return & last gig as 007 was quite alright though the plot could've had been far better written. However great soundtrack & acting.
