Curtis B (kr) wrote: A necessary installment in the series, but not very well done. The score is strange and obnoxious, the costuming is cheap, the camera angles (Caesar constantly creeping in the back) are awkward, and its a 20-minute movie packed into an hour and a half, not to mention the "twist" ending is a cheap and unrealistic turn. I still really like the concept of the series.
Johnny T (es) wrote: Hogan and Caton are terrific together, with real camaraderie and comic timing. They also hold the emotional moments nicely in check, giving film a warm undercurrent that sneaks up on us at the end. The message isn't terribly revolutionary--don't close your mind to love, wherever you find it. And some scenes are rather farcical. This is a warm and fuzzy movie that relies on stale clichs to move the plot forward and a feel-good attitude to keep us watching despite ourselves. But in the end the cast's charm and a sensitive script win us over. This comedy about mateship is not the hilarious romp we wish for, but relies on key casting of Hogan and Caton to squeeze every drop of goodwill and humour from its premise. VERDICT: "Full Price" - My second highest rating (Positive to Mixed reaction). This is a rating to a movie I view as very entertaining and well made, and definitely worth paying the full price at a theatre to see or own on DVD. It is not perfect, but it is definitely excellent.

Paul D (gb) wrote: Fair attempt to marry a few genre's into a traditional POW storyline where the obligatory escape plan plays an important part in the plot. It's not high on action or thrills though, mainly words and honour.
