Bily T (jp) wrote: Monsters University marks the first time Pixar made a movie which is a prequel and for those who don't know what a prequel is it's basically a film that happens before the events of the film that it's based on so this movie happens before the events of the first Monsters Inc film. The story is good, the characters old and new are good, the music fits each scene specifically for being a college film & the animation is super good each character had a great movement of what type of monster they are.The only problems is I wasn't quiet sure who was the villain of the film and I still can't think who is. And that some parts of the film had a bit too much drama in it.But aside from the problems Monsters University is a good film with a great characters, great animation which is super well done then again it's Pixar and with a good story. I give Monsters University a 9.0 out of 10 a great prequel and a great way to show how the life of our favourite Monsters first met and what they used to do.

Ian R (es) wrote: I had a hard time with this, it's trying REALLY hard to be a tear-jerker, but also diverges into slapstick and cheese. It also wraps up everything WAY too easily and he only really looks like he has terminal cancer at the very end, despite being told he had 3 months to live (I know they explain this by having him wish on a star to god to let him see his son born, but come on). Parts were touching, but mostly if felt, too sugar-coated and cheesy to be a real bawler...
Steve M (it) wrote: "1492: Conquest of Paradise" is an interesting film from Ridley Scott as he tells the story of Christopher Columbus. It features a great performance from Gerard Depardieu and a good supporting cast including Sigourney Weaver, Armand Assante and Michael Wincott. The cinematography and the score are makes the film even more memorable. The movie tends to drag with the running time clocking in at 2 1/2 hours.

Bridges and Furlong have great chemistry together, and while the material is rather cliched, the performances raise it above the ordinary tv-movie fare.
Dave C (nl) wrote: This is one of those films I have fond memories from watching many moons ago. The unfortunate thing is that it's not quite as entertaining as I remember. First off the villains are like a zombified Village People with an Indian, biker and a soldier. Nothing is explained about these maniacs apart from the fact that they live under Golden Gate Bridge, can only be killed with water (strange seeing as they live under a bridge), are maniacal and leave a bright green goop behind (is that why they're neon?) It was an interesting idea to make each one of the creatures unique. Quite a few people die in the film, but fails to keep any true horror there when you have your heroes shooting them with water pistols. Of course not forgetting the scene where the police kit themselves out for a raid on the maniacs and get their water pistols out of the boot of their cars. Alas we'll never know where these maniacs came from, or even why they had their own Top Trumps set in the film.
Mike G (es) wrote: I personally loved this movie but its all due to Kevin Bacon... He plays such a convincing character and to show slow decent of insanity throughout this movie is phenomenal. This movie has a very straight forward plot but due to the actors playing the roles of these characters so well it made for an amazing 2 hour experience for meOverall not an impressive story but wonderful acting and thrilling execution made this a brutal unforgiving thrill ride89/100
