Shaun Of The Dead

Shaun Of The Dead

Shaun lives a supremely uneventful life, which revolves around his girlfriend, his mother, and, above all, his local pub. This gentle routine is threatened when the dead return to life and make strenuous attempts to snack on ordinary Londoners.

Shaun Of The Dead: Shaun is one of the company's sales staffs, and he is staying with his friends. he is told that after there has one woman acts strangely and he is not noticed until he sees a lot of people like that and watches the news on TV, he knows that they are zombies . Anthony A (it) wrote: This only goes to show that one should watch all the nominees. Didn't consider this when Moonlight was storming the scene and La La Land was trying to be a contender. This movie was complete delight.

David B (fr) wrote: The realism about Britain is brought here really slickly and style. Sean Bean is great as a soldier coming back from Iraq, only to find Britain is worse and that his girlfriend has moved on. Different scenario of other characters are told simply about their situation and eventually join together as a rookie vigilante group trying to get revenge on those that hurt them. It is brilliantly directed by Nick Love, who by now can definitely these types of films, that's of course if you like his brilliant two other films he's done. Danny Dyer is just Danny Dyer but I liked the fact that he was vulnerable in this and shows he can act and the rest of the cast of pretty good too, it has moments of sadness brought to you simply and you do sometimes have sympathy for the characters, it's not really overly violent but some scenes are quite strong and makes you think morally. The script probably could've been better, with some scenes very slow, losing the pace when it does rise but comes right down, pausing what should've made the film run smoothly and the ending, though somewhat satisfying, just ends suddenly. It's rough on the edge's but still a good, powerful film that is just showing what's going on in the real world but the worst thing about the film is the weird shaky camera that could've done without, it was like "fake shaking". Still a wonderful British film but the Football Factory is by far the best film that Nick Love has done.

Amanda H (fr) wrote: This was so good that about 20 minutes into it, I decided to play a game instead. I left it on for background noise in hopes it might get better because I like Stephen Baldwin, but this start off abysmally and never improved. Don't bother wasting your time on this.

Rodney E (gb) wrote: There was an honesty to Smoke Signals that didn't seem forced. Saw this in a class and enjoyed it more than I thought that I would. Poignant and moving, Smoke Signals shows a decent story about modern Native Americans. I actually like Sherman Alexie's stories and this feels like reading Reservation Blues

Paul S (br) wrote: Great movie that most people do not even know about. Very very funny and campy. If you liked Priscilla or Muriel's-you will love this. Just a brilliant movie. One of my all time favs. Also, awesome soundtrack.

Mark S (de) wrote: Tells the story well with its own take on the fable. Despite the poor effects for its year of production, the acting and plotline makes up for any other inadequacies. This is more of the kind of acting you would see on a stage where everything is exaggerated and reading between the line is simple enough, but it is done well.

Tim Robbins and John Cusack are quite good, although Tim Robbins should improve his dancing skills - but it is his part. However, the film is a bit disjointed. Sometimes you wonder how come they were in a restaurant and moved to a public park with this girl. I love the sequence with the awful video they do of "Baby Doll" and the two hitmen dancing for their new video "The Killers". Check out the outfit of the actors: shoulder pads will be soon fashionable again. Yes!!

Private U (it) wrote: Pretty raw. One hour and a half of toxic banter in a dysfunctional family, with only a couple of very pale glimmers of hope. All the venom of the hateful patriarch toward his daughter-in-law is understood at the very end, during a strange monologue by the son himself, who tells of his father's spurned sexual advances on the young woman. On the surface, it's a neo-realist, cinema-verite comment on the plight of workers (women workers in particular) in a broken-down communist society, where everybody is trying desperately to get state permission for an apartment, as THE solution to their oppressive family situations. But the deeper "object of value" in this movie is "a child" -- someone for whom, in the words of the heroine, "you do it all".Great movie, if you don't mind having to find the beauty in it all by yourself.

familiar s (au) wrote: Suspension of disbelief might have helped enjoy this movie had the pacing be not so sluggish. It simply gives too much time to think about the characters' illogical actions when it ought to have moved swiftly. There are simply too many flaws in the movie to be able to enjoy it enough.
