Kyle K (nl) wrote: One of the Coens' most underrated films, A Serious Man is a modern take on the Biblical parable of Job. The dialogue is crisp and hilarious, as we've come to expect from the Coens. I think a lot of folks might find this film too bleak, and while it is bleak, it's also really funny. Although it's a small part of the film, the portrayal of middle-school male-dom is hilariously spot-on. My only real complaint is the green color-correction, which is a little distracting. Otherwise absolutely worth seeing if you're a fan of the Coen Bros.

Tim S (kr) wrote: If you can get past the constant swearing and shaky cam this isn't a bad film, but not really a good one either in my opinion. It is quite predictable and doesn't really show either the Police or the people they are catching in a good light. If real life is like this in the US I'm very glad I don't live there.
Lucas N (it) wrote: While it is enjoyable, it doesn't offer nearly enough. Poor writing, predictable story, bad action sequences. It's all of the things Rodriguez excels at toned down for this kid's film.
Dan M (ca) wrote: This made me laugh waaaaay more than a stupid Adam Sandler movie is supposed to. First off, Eva Amurri in this.. goddamn. Even though she only had a small crucial role in the beginning, memorable stuff right there. Second, Vanilla Ice and James Caan in the same movie and both were scene stealers. Lastly, it's probably the best Sandler movie since Click or Anger Management in terms of an overall entertaining good time. Yes it's still silly and stupid as hell, but I liked it despite the overuse of the 'wasssssup' joke.
