Grant S (us) wrote: Interesting Congolese crime-drama. Good set up and initial plot. Drifts in the middle but has a very gritty, un-Hollywood ending (which is a good thing). Solid performances all round.

Chandler C (ag) wrote: I was skeptical at first, seeing as there was a growing number of people not enjoying this movie, but I don't regret watching it at all. Many people don't like this movie because it is different, and original as well, but these reasons seemed to be the reasons why I enjoyed it so much. The movie focuses on Justin, who is summoning the demon Lo to search for his love, April. What makes this movie different is the fact that the it focuses on Justin, sitting in a pentagram, with everything else going on around him. A lot is left to the imagination, but flashbacks in the form of a play provide a visual to give your imagination a break. Well worth a watch, and even if you don't enjoy it as much as some, you will at least have experienced something different from almost any movie you've seen before.

Steven M (jp) wrote: Incredibly touching and difficult to watch. It's definitely a character driven film, that in a way, shows how people work together and what they'll do in times of crisis.

Matt G (ag) wrote: Lee handles melodrama about as gracefully as an after-school special. Even with a decent plot, bundles of style, and timely themes, Lee just can?t get the awful dialogue and poor acting out of the way?.and if I never hear a Seal song again, it will be too soon. A heavy-handed bummer.

Charles P (us) wrote: Neil Young's improvised score and the monochrome cinematography I suppose are intended to artistically elevate the film, because without them Dead Man is a lifeless, agonizingly self-conscious heap of nothingness.

Matt C (br) wrote: This movie is funny and enjoyable, and has a strange deepness to it that I can not yet fully explain or comprehend. I really liked this movie.

Aaron G (ca) wrote: A great GREAT classic. They just don't make movies like this any more.

Katherine N (ru) wrote: The less Charlotte Bartlett (poor Charlotte), less grand, less funny, less passionate version.

Craig B (fr) wrote: Four stars? Am I kidding? Nope. It deserves four. It is so horribly over acted [by the mother charcter - at least] that it's worth watching. It's a cult classic.

Jeff B (fr) wrote: I may be a bit biased, for this is one of my all-time top ten films. From the outset, one is captured by the panoramic shots, close ups, and hunting sound track. And even though the story meanders a bit, nearly three hours in length, it is still a captivating story of what is good, bad, and ugly in all of us. Some may say the film is unnecessarily brutal, but it's a reflection of one of the most brutal times in American history, the Civil War where more death and carnage occurred than any time previous or since. Clint Eastwood is his usual cool, cold self, but it is Eli Wallach who steals the show. His character, Tuco, has got to be one of the most selfish, mean, nasty, evil men in film history. Yet at the same time, he's so silly, so pathetic, so idiotic, you can't but find a place in your heart for this villain. And whether Blondie is Good, Blue Eyes Evil, and Tuco Ugly is questionable. They're all about as evil as can be, so maybe Blondie is only good comparatively. The relationship between Blondie and Tuco is an odd one, to say the least. It is one that is mutually beneficially and mutually abusive, yet at the same time they appear to seek it out. In the end, the bad guy gets it, but even though good and ugly escape with a fortune, the only reason they both escape is the perverse connection they've built over time. Moral of the story? Well, there really is none. It's just good, clean, masochistic, shoot 'em up, evil and mayhem with a very little taste of the good thrown in for, as one would say, good measure.

Stephen M (br) wrote: Interesting disaster story where the end of the world is nigh. Set in the offices of the London Daily Express, it's a fast paced film that not only picks up on the fears of the time but is proving to be more than a little prophetic, at least with the consequences of Man's actions. I first saw this film many years ago on TV and was fascinated by it. Recently I saw a copy on VHS cassette in my local garden centre for ?2.99 so bought and and was glad I did. On watching it again the global warming theme is relevant as are the human stories and (much as I hate to admit it) the role of the press in such a disaster. I think the best critic was my 17 year old son who sat glued to the screen, despite the film being in "cruddy black and white" and pronounced it to be "cool for an old film and with a fab ending". Need I say more?

Robert I (ca) wrote: Pretty interesting way to break down how drug peddling works and how/why the war on drugs is a failure. Some may look at the video game comparison to be immature, but I think it adds to the subject matter. If I have 1 criticism its that it doesn't always sync up the stories of the people they follow. I got lost a few times with people's timelines, but overall they cover a lot of ground and it is easy to lose the trees from the forest.

Todd B (jp) wrote: This an extremely gripping movie that captures the toxicity of southern racism. Hackman and Dafoe shine at certain moments. They seem overshadowed by power of the film's subject at times.

Indu R (gb) wrote: A good sequel, but not as good as the previous movie. It was not entertaining and the plot was good, but dragged out a little. The cast was great and the movie was very dramatic overall.
