(br) wrote: Nope, not a sequel to the much hyped film of a similar name, but this independent cheapo rip-off sure as hell took advantage of its publicity. It's quite a dull film really with a bit of gore now and then, but it didn't have the budget to pull off the film effectively. An admirable but average effort.

(br) wrote: What a bore. "Timecode" is interesting for the first 10 minutes because the film acts as a new way to experience a story. It's also interesting for 5 minutes near the end when an artist pitches her idea for a film that is not unlike the exact description of "Timecode" itself. In it, she spouts off perplexing theoretical comments on the advent of digital video into the cinematic realm. But really, that time is only intriguing to a small few who actually find that subject matter worthwhile. So for the other hour and 18 minutes? It's awful. A truly narrative failure in cinema, captured all in real time on digital video.

(jp) wrote: Enjoyable homage to the 60's surf movies starring Frankie and Annette, plays along instead of mocking them, just having fun in the sun and giving the audience, a gleeful trip down memory lane. When burned out Frankie decides to take a vacation with his beautiful and perky wife and his surly punk son, they stop on the way to see there grown up daughter who lives in their old stomping grounds of the beautiful beach. Along the way the couple have a good ole time with pajama parties and crash the scene of their daughter shacked up with a surf bum, they sing and dance and just have fun! Fun movie for all those who love the old days and fondly remember the surf movies for their easy going ways and not for their film plots.

I can not for the life of me call this a good movie by any means, it's pretty stupid. Ron Howard is a great, talented director, but in my opinion, this is easily one of his biggest missteps.
