Ohnus C (es) wrote: The script was well plotted, and the story was arranged in quite a funny way. Creative local movie, finally saw one in the year 2009.

Connor C (de) wrote: Eastern Promises benefits from a strong Russian atmosphere and a harsh look at modern day mobsters that aren't given as much spotlight as the Italian or Irish. The thought of such violent and bloody criminals living among the common folk is an unreal almost surreal idea which is beautifully and shockingly realized in the film. Along with a string of well-performed and impactful characters, the performance to focus on is above all Viggo Mortenson as Nikolai Luzhin, the slick, viscous and yet compassionate rising Russian mobster. Mortenson transforms completely in the role with a calm cool demeanor, a lot of tattoos and a very convincing Russian accent, bringing more of a heart to the character as well as a presence which will not soon be forgotten.

Mychal S (ca) wrote: It's entirely unlike anything else you'll see, but whether you'll like it is extremely personal. The fantastic sense of humor saves this film from a potential case of crippling self-seriousness.

Justin M (mx) wrote: Awesome! Another great gritty UK street film. They have a formula over there that just works. Ashley Walters did an awesome job as always. He has an authenticity to him. Seems to have a real street mentality that comes across well on screen.

Crispin T (jp) wrote: For a Happy Madison productions staring David Spade it wasn't terrible. Wasn't a great movie, but it was bearable. Spade was actually somewhat charming (I know, right?)

Mark D (nl) wrote: pitiful, I only made 10-minutes and I had the choice of hitting "delete" or throwing up!
