David J (ag) wrote: Though a few spots were either bland or messy, the four protagonists are fairly likeable, and the film hits enough notes for you not to regret seeing it.

Danny G (nl) wrote: Another incredible movie. Tommy Lee Jones is again spectacular. Every movie this guy does is worth watching. This one included!!

Orlando D (gb) wrote: Graffiti Bridge, the follow up to Purple Rain is written and directed by Prince and comes off like an extended music video than a film. The songs are strunged together to a horrible plot and seriously bad acting. Prince once again plays Kid, co-owner of Gland Slam club along with his music rival Morris Day(whos buffoon act along with Jerome Benton was great in the first one is now irritating here.)He meets an angel-like woman named Aura(Ingrid Chavez, who makes Apollonia look like Meryl Streep.) Purple Rain was not a great film, what it lacked in story and acting made up with energy of Prince's stage performances and style, this film lacks the energy as Prince performs on stage the backup dancers are a hindrance rather then compliment him. They look like video rejects of MC Hammer and Bobby Brown and other artists of the day. Too add to the cheapness of it all is the fact its film entirely at Paisley Park studios, so the scenes at the bridge and the streets outside the clubs look incredibly fake. Kim Basinger(his then girlfriend.)turned down the role of the Kid's girlfriend. Basinger has made some questionable career choices but she wisely avoided this disaster. A swan song for Prince's film career

Blais E (ru) wrote: Wonderful and whacked out, uproarious and very broad comedy featuring Ringo Starr as one of a goofy gang of misfit Cavemen, struggling to survive in the rough-and-tumble days of prehistoric times, complete with some silly and beautifully animated dinosaurs courtesy of the very talented Jim Danforth and Randall Cook--- the aged, pot-bellied, and very-stoned T-Rex, especially, is a riot. Essentially a series of vignettes, framed by a very loose storyline, detailing Ringo's tribe's skirmishes with a rival, more primitive gang led by ex-footballer John Matuszak. Lots of very funny set-pieces, likable comic book-like characters, and bountiful female beauty on display provided by a young, skimpily-clad, pre-"Cheers" Shelley Long, and especially by the smoldering and lusciously-buxom Bond Girl Barbara Bach, Ringo's future wife, here very easy on the eyes as well as being surprisingly effective at showing some heretofore unseen comedic chops. Also on hand for all the fun are comedians Jack Gilford and Avery Schreiber, and a wet-behind-the-ears Dennis Quaid in a very early film appearance.

Ken S (es) wrote: When I was 6 I saw this film. A few images, including the look of Lord X, a man dressing as X in the bathroom while talking to a woman in the other room, and the image of both the costume floating to the surface and Lord X walking back up out of the water...these images have been haunting me for 17 years as I tried to figure out what the hell the film was. The search is over, and I am relieved. Having finally watched the film I found it to be okay. It isn't great, but it is an okay comedy. I was really shocked to discover that it is a comedy about french whores. This film is totally inappropriate for 6 year old me. Lemmon gives his usual all, but MacLaine is pretty awful.
