Three teenage brothers, gang-member Bobby, troubled mama's boy Alan and self-assured prankster Lex, reside in a downtrodden section of Glasgow, Scotland, circa 1968. But while Bobby and Alan are beginning to experience the power of raging hormones, the story focuses on Lex, who begins a downward spiral after he accidentally shoots the leader of Bobby's gang. Lex's cockiness and immaturity unfortunately prevent him from understanding the effect his subsequent crimes will have on both himself, and on those around him.

(au) wrote: H is a gruesome Korean thriller, which "borrows" many ideas from Silence of the Lambs. A man who commits brutal murders of pregnant women is imprisoned, the murders keep happening. The detectives of the case then constantly interview the man trying to solve the puzzle. If SOtL never existed, this would be much more appreciated. I did predict the ending early on, and much of the acting was overdone, but something about this film touched me. I think the uniqueness was the tension between detectives, the back to backs got almost as brutal as the crime. The film was gory from the start, and not for people with a weak stomach. I wouldn't confuse this for anything good, but it was a worthy watch. The rating is generous, but I can't go lower.

It's interesting to see Caine taking a more humorous part, and producing - along with Planes, Trains and Automobiles - a brilliant few years for Mr Martin. Almost every scene brings a smile, due to the fantastic chemistry between the superb leads.Verdict: A

Some unforgettable performances (Dennis Hopper putting in a manic, powerhouse performance), coupled with some unforgettable scenes (see previous) and an almost dream-like feel to the film work together to create a shocking and still quite unique film experience. Is the film perfect? Not by a long shot. There are pacing issues towards the end, and some of the dialogue just feels a bit clunky. Blue Velvet's story and feel will certainly be a deterrent for some, but ultimately the film is definitely worth a watch. 3 1/2 stars

Last night I was surfing & came across Retrovision & found it on there. Sure the quality was shit but I was glad I found it. The trailer has the best bits & makes Death Machines seem a lot better & more sophisticated then it is. I liked the assassinations especially when they whip out the rocket lancher & there are moments of unintentional hilarity throughout like when you are introduced to the deadly 3. The first 2 show their kung fu skills & the 3rd one just pulls out a gun. As well the Dragon Lady has a lisp as bad as Elmer Fudd.

(fr) wrote: The plot is both interesting and original but the scene where Ben Affleck's character suggests that all three of them should have sex with each other to resolve the conflict came off as a very stupid scene and from there on I couldn't care less about this movie.
