Amir S (nl) wrote: Clearly a parody of a ninja movie. Not a good one at that.

Chrissy P (ca) wrote: sometimes movies with long rambling monologues are intelligent and relevant... and sometimes they're just pseudo-intelligent and pretentious... this would be the latter.

Stephen C (ca) wrote: I know I'm in a small minority here, but I absolutely love this movie. It's like a 1970s B-movie with art house production values. It has good performances, gorgeous cinematography, some memorable dialogue, and a plot that is completely bonkers. I predict that this film will be develop a cult in years to come.

Derek J (mx) wrote: Extremely confusing movie if you aren't paying attention. Even then so at times. Finished the film because I wanted to see how some of the Japanese I've been tinkering with is used in a modern context.

Jayakrishnan R (gb) wrote: 85%Saw this on 8/12/15A lesser entry as far as Oliver Stone filmography is concerned, but still the film has evolved to be an archetype for many films about wall street or just crime itself and many of these films simply copy it's ending. Oliver Stone directs this film also as a tribute to his stock broker father and that love can be seen in the electrifying scenes between real life father and son Martin and Charlie Sheen who also play father and son here. The film has effective acting from Michael Douglas, Charlie Sheen and Martin Sheen. One of the other important things about the film is that anyone can follow it, you are not bored by the stock market here and Stone presents it in an easily accessible manner. However, Daryl Hannah gives a poor performance and much to the irritation she looks like a whore in this film.

Erik K (mx) wrote: I liked the year 2000, but I think I like the 2000 of 1951 better. In the year 2000 of 1951 one could smoke on board a space ship en route to Mars. And the crew was a mix of scientists, engineers and a newspaperman who filed his stories by sending them back home via "space cylinder". When I was a newspaperman I would have loved to file my stories that way. The movie? Typical B movie stuff. Martians who are torn between the malicious and the understanding, blah blah blah blah. You understand how people could fall for Obama when they had this sort of pap thrust down their throats as kids. But I digress. It is a lot of fun. Of course nowadays in our neo-puritan days one can probably not even smoke while watching the astronauts smoke en route to Mars. Puritans, neo and paleo, should all be hanged and flogged. But I digress again. Check this movie out if you like cool moderne design, rockets that seem to be propelled by sparklers, stilted dialog, and predictable story turns. And smoking!

Josh B (jp) wrote: This was a childhood movie that for some unknown reason (maybe cuz of the boobs?) I really thought it was cool. I watched in again for the first time in a very long time over the weekend. This has 80's cop movie all over it.

Alexander B (ca) wrote: The Conjuring, is a really terrifying movie that leaves you scared and enjoyed at the same time. Also, has some great performances from the actors and actresses...
