Vineeta S (mx) wrote: Amazingly well-developed, 3-dimensional characters (allllways hard to find in a Hindi movie). Ridiculously good performances by all three male leads and Rani Mukherjee, captivating script, interesting plot (not the usual predictable muck). The movie's unbelievably long, but there isn't a single part I would have left out. (except the thoroughly unnecessary Vivek-Kareena songs). Turns out I'm a pretty bug fan of Realism and Tremendismo.

The plot is a simple cinderella story ...non-descript beer seller makes good as dancehall queen and escapes the bad guys. - and there's strong accents and basic acting, but there's also colourful directing, infectious music, eye-watering costumes and outrageous dancing. Yummy.

John T (es) wrote: Terrible cinematography/editing during fight sequences. They cut so fast and frequently to so many dizzying angles that the intent of sped up choas is lost to confusion and a headache. Otherwise, not bad...and yeah, a madmax ripoff, but still fun.

Ashley H (nl) wrote: The House of Spirits is a decent film. It is about a South American patriarch who destroys his family as he engages in a military coup. Jeremy Irons and Meryl Streep give good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Bille August did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama and romance.

Giffy G (fr) wrote: Although it is my least favorite Rock Hudson/Doris Day collaboration, it was a really cute movie. The commercials at the beginning were such a clever device, that I wish the movie had continued using them throughout. It had a convoluted plot--as one expects from RH/DD movies, but a lot of the thrill was taken out as they played a married couple. The movie definitely had its funny moments, and as with all RH/DD movies, the ending left me unfulfilled. Still, I'll probbaly watch it several more times, and just skip the ending.
