Snakehead Terror

A small town, desperate to recover from hard economic times, is under threat when voracious Snakehead fish mutate and survive previous lake chemical poisonings. Agonizingly slow and incredibly boring (both of which are strengths and compliments), the film does a fantastic job capturing the endlessness of these conquistadors' journey, their confusion, and their exasperation with their surroundings. Even more, it does a fantastic job capturing their boredom and their hallucinogenic state as their journey drags on and on. Klaus Kinski was a real odd ball in life and this is exemplified here as he is insane in the film. He turns in a great performance in Herzog's masterpiece that apparently heavily influenced Apocalypse Now and it is not hard to see why, given the similarities of some elements of the films. As a whole, it may be too slow for some, but it is purposefully paced and is a fantastically crafted film that is entirely odd, unique, and completely down-to-earth.

Beneath the planet of the apes at least took the story and added to it, also showing us some of the characters we loved in the original. This one felt really cheaply made and rushed. The concept is good but it could have been done so much better. Out of all the films, this one felt most like a tv movie due to it's cheap production. It is a shame to end such an amazing franchise this way but as a whole, this is one of the most underrated franchise ever. People talk about Terminator and time travel in sci:fi but this franchise brought it out way before James Cameron did.
