Ben W (au) wrote: The movie is filmed like an FMV game from the mid '90's. Then there's this gem: "You know who made daylight savings time, don't you? Hitler. You know who supports it now? Doctors. And do you know why? Golf." And, the appearance of Edgar Allen Poe.This movie is odd. It's terrible, but you should watch it.

Steph O (jp) wrote: An interesting drama with some great performances but a less-than-gripping story. It's quite dark and it doesn't sugar coat anything, which is where it might lose some people. I liked it though, because I love Jamie Bell, Josh Lucas and Kristen Stewart.

Steven C (au) wrote: "Grand Hotel" is an iconic relic. It's an important film because it was the first of it's kind in terms of multiple, interconnected, existential story lines and the first film to gather together a large, star studded ensemble. Since the structure of the film was completely new, the various threads can be derivative and seem more like a series of vignettes than a cohesive whole. But the cast is enchanting and the blending of genres is risky and invigorating. "Grand Hotel" is by no means a perfect film and it's entertainment value can be all over the place, but it's still an intriguing and important motion picture to this day.
