This film is poorly directed, edited and the fight scenes are worse than your average power rangers episode.Save your time and cash and watch any of the latter Undisputed Series with Scott Adkins.

(au) wrote: Lean on Me is a strong movie about high school students that are in a gang or affiliated with drugs. The stars in this movie are Morgan Freeman (Joe Clark), Beverly Todd (Ms. Levias), and Robert Guillaume (Dr. Frank Napier). Dr. Frank Napier is the superintendent of East Side High, the lowest ranked school in the state of New Jersey. Not his first choice but out of desperation, Dr. Napier, with great hope, choses Joe Clark to become the new principal. Joe Clark realizes that the task at hand will not be an easy one, trying to transform a school from falling test grades and gang related actions to a school with passing grades and a complete turn around on the way people look at East Side High. This movie goes over some deep topics, including drug and family problem. Also the way Mr. Clark is perceived, he is a bully as some people might call him. My rating for this movie is a 4.5/5. This is a great movie, especially if you want to learn about what might go on in other, poorer schools.

(de) wrote: Produced by Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis through their Dark Castle Entertainment brand, which was set up to produce low budget horror films. This one came from a spec script by Mark Hanlon, which was rewritten by John Pogue (The Quiet Ones (2014)), with SFX artist Steve Beck making his feature debut. It should have been a bit of cheesy hokum, but it feels like a poor man's Virus (1999), if that's possible. It begins in 1962, when a load of passengers on board the Italian ocean liner, Antonia Graza, are killed in a freak accident involving a metal cable. Cut to present day, and a boat salvage crew, consisting of Captain Sean Murphy (Gabriel Byrne), Maureen Epps (Julianna Margulies), Greer (Isaiah Washington), Dodge (Ron Eldard), Munder (Karl Urban) and Santos (Alex Dimitriades) are taken to the Antonia Graza, after a tip-off by Canadian pilot Jack Ferriman (Desmond Harrington). They find the ship, and after exploring it proves to be dangerous, they attempt to tow it to the nearest port, however they end up getting picked off one by one by someone. This should have been a bit of cheesy fun, but it ends up being more dull than entertaining, all the cast concerned end up over-acting to the high hilt. Despite it's low budget and getting slammed mercilessly by the critics, it still turned in a tidy profit. Needless to say, Beck hasn't directed another feature films since.
(fr) wrote: Great cast that give good performances suffer from a weak script that has many pacing issues and doesn't know what kind of comedy it wants to be, ranging from light-hearted to dramatic too often. With a slightly miscast Witherspoon I think this film had too many ideas for it to actually carry on with. C-

(ru) wrote: For what this movie was, it was pretty good. As a cartoon adaptation, it's pretty harmless. Sure, it did take some liberties with the source material, but it's not like with most films based on a cartoon such as "The Smurfs" movie, "Alvin and the Chipmunks" films or even "The Last Airbender" which had absolutely nothing connected to the cartoon. This movie, on the other hand does seem to look like somebody in the crew that made this movie actually saw the cartoon. The basic stuff is still there, Speed is a young car racer who wants to become the best car racer in the world, he has a friend named Trixie, a younger brother named Spritle a pet monkey, he has a brother named Rex who disappeared, he meets up with a racer known as Racer X who later turns out to be his brother, the list could go on. The characters look a lot like their animated counterparts (well, at least as much as possible, I mean, you can't have them to be big eyed like the japanese version), they remain with the personality they had in the cartoon (maybe a little bit more independent than in cartoon for some of them) and even the car designs are pretty faithful to the original. So when people say that this is one of the worst movies out there, guess What. If it resembles the character personality, character design, car design and a lot of elements of the cartoon's story, then it's a freaking movie based on a cartoon that was more faithful that the other ones. And all what I pointed out about this movie is what this movie should be given credit for. Changing the character entirely like they did in other movies based on cartoon or making them look nothing like their counterparts would a different thing. And this movie should be given more appreciattion for what it did and for what it is. Especially seeing how this movie, along with Lone Ranger and some other good films that ended up having a poor rating like this and being down there with garbage like 50 shades because of it.

(ca) wrote: This has it's moments, but eventually it falls flat and becomes little more than your typical "dumb people head into the middle of nowhere after being warned by a creepy redneck not to and all goes to hell" at least there weren't any deformed mountain men in this one, even though Ike, with the green teeth, was pretty damn close. The acting's really not too bad though and all the gore looks alright for a low-budget movie, so they used their budget well, at least. Like I said, it has moments now and then, and the ending is pretty cool, but the majority of it falls flat. Still relatively entertaining though, but not enough to make up for lacking elsewhere, which some movies like this can get away with.
